i think they should only allow registered members in the chat rooms...and also maybe some how list who is on ...

You have to be registered to post. We can implement a who's on list but at times we have had up to 1000 people on at the same time. The list could just slow things down and because of the large number make the list virtually unusable.

My suggestion: I hate losing my text if I've spent too long writing a message or FM. I would like to see the system changed somehow, so that if you do have to log back in, your message or FM doesn't get erased.

Programming has been updated so this shouldn't happen anymore.

I think you should have a list of Liweddings members, so that when we want to send an email to more than one person we can just click on their names. I can't remember the spelling of everyones names.

We could post a list but it's a big one. There are thousands and thousands of names. We'll see what is the best solution and get back to you.

We have implemented a feature that emails you when you receive FM. Just check the box next to - Email me when I get new Forum Mail - in My Wedding.

To have something pop up would require a download and installation of an application on your computer. Most would not install the application thus this solution has been sidelined.

can't you have the 'you have forum mail' text viewable on the top of the page as it does once you log in for the first time? there can be a programming check for each page update. the threads are constantly updated, so prior to an updated display one creates a program check for new mail. if new mail, then display the same login text 'you have forum mail' (minus the login successful part). from a programming perspective, this should technically be rather painless. not knowing what is under the hood, there may be a reason as to why this simple change can not be implemented…

If the page auto refreshed it would drive you nuts! What would you do if you were reading a post or thread and all of a sudden the screen refreshed? I don't think this would be a good solution for you. Congrats on liking your job and pay check.

I have an idea. How about you tie a string around your finger to remind you to check your FM a few times a day?

I thought you could put auto refresh on certain pages. As in the actual forum pages not the threads that you are reading.

And how do you figure that most would not do this, and even if they didn't what difference does that make..........most people never use the 'insert quote' option beneath all the emoticons, we just hit Quotre on the post we wanna quote but that 'OPTION' is still there..............

Same thing would happen. You could be reading an FM and all of a sudden it would refresh. It's a great suggestion but unfortunately wouldn't work here.

And how do you figure that most would not do this,

Because many are on work computers and can not install applications. The application may not make it through many firewalls. And many will not install applications on any computer they use.

Use a string!

LIW, I have a question, when it says that there are 309 users online, does that mean that there are 309 people actually signed on looking at the message boards, or 309 people looking at the site overall?

Message boards. The entire site is a much larger number.

Wow, really? That's interesting, I've always wondered that. Are there a lot of people who have accounts but don't post?
