FH and I are getting married in September of 2009, and we'd like to try to focus on local, seasonal flowers as much as possible (cheaper, better for the environment, fresher -- can't go wrong!)
Does anyone actually know what's in season at that time of year? And what florists specialize in that sort of thing?

I'm not sure I can help, but maybe you can ask some local growers out east for suggestions? I know the farm stands always have beautiful flowers out in the fall.

September offers sunflowers, dahlias and chrysanthemums...the latter are realy inexpensive!!

mums & montauk daisy for sure, but idk if they're wedding flowers per se.
