Lombardi's on the Bay vs. Villa Lombardis
Do any of you gals have any insight on either location for a reception? I have looked at 14 venues in Suffolk and I am so overwhelmed. I think I have narrowed it down to these two based on what you get for the price, but I haven't been to an event for either place so I am torn...Any help would be appreciated :)

Both places are really nice! Go with what you love more..if it was me, I would go with lombardis on the bay only because I love the water!

A big decision maker for me would be... Are you going to be able to enjoy the fact that lombardis on the sound is on the water? If you're thinking October for an evening wedding, you may not even see the water for more than an hour. Just something to think about :)

Yeah you are right. I should have mentioned I would be moving the wedding to late August if I booked on the bay for that very reason.Everything is just very overwhelming. LOL
Thanks for the advice ladies!

I went to a wedding at Villa Lombardi's recently....it was ok. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything special about it. The food was decent; not the best I've had at a wedding, but not the worst either.

I booked Lombardi's on the Bay because I've always wanted something by the water. I didn't look at Villa Lombardi's though

Lombardi's on the Bay vs. Villa Lombardis - Long Island Weddings
We're at Lombardi's on the Bay, the ballroom is very pretty (love the chandeliers!) and we like that we can have the cocktail hour right on the water if it is nice. The only thing I am worried about is that the ballroom is a bit small! I haven't looked at Villa Lombardi's. We looked at a few other places but when we walked into Lombardi's on the Bay, FH was just convinced that was the place! The food is great, too! :)

Yeah I was concerned about the size of the room as well. How many guests are you planning on having? I would definitely be moving my date to a warmer month if I choose them so I could
Take advantage of the outdoor area as well, it's so nice with the water right there!

Lombardi's on the Bay vs. Villa Lombardis - Long Island Weddings
That's a tough question! Haha. We would like to have about 150, but currently have around 200 on our guest list. We both have big families! I wanted to keep it small but it's just impossible! A large majority of our list is out of town, so that should help cut it down a bit... But even with 150 I think it'll be a little tight. I figure that the only time everyone will be sitting down is for dinner, other than that I'm sure people will be enjoying the outdoor area and cocktail room... So hopefully it won't be too bad!

Also, have you looked at Lombardi's on the Sound? I think it's bigger and also has water views. I haven't seen it, but the pictures that I have seen of the outdoor areas are beautiful!

LOB was my dream venue until I realized how much I had to cut out to get it within my budget. DH was insistent on waterfront so our search continued. I found Sunset Harbour through a friend in my firehouse. My menu was 3x the size of LOB/Villa and their top package (which is what I had) is $65++. They're actually their own private marina and the pictures you can get there are unbelievable. I had guests that have been to Lombardis weddings, my best friend even had her sweet 16 at Villa and I've been told by EVERYONE that the food was phenomenal. I know you said you've seen a lot of venues, but this one may be worth an appointment.
HTH! Good luck!

My FH wanted Villa Lomnardi's due to the price but then we went to east wind with their package and they blew away that place. Have you looked their yet?

I didn't bother going to look there because I have attended 3 weddings of other family members there in the last 2 years so I wanted a little change of pace. It is such a beautiful venue though! You're wedding is going to be amazing!
