Lombardi's on the Sound showcase last night....

I hadn't been there since we booked last September and it was good to see how the place looked all set up. There were a ton of people there.

Did anyone else from here go? What did you think?

I live down the block and it would have been so nice to be married close to home....I personally do not like the way they have a room within a room set up - the food is amazing !! Service wonderful and the view ...wow !

I was there last night. I was actually disapointed. I felt like they used last night to train the staff. The girl at the chees station didnt even understand english...sorry, but when my dauhter asks for mozzerlla and you give her asiago...there's something lost in translation. I saw some of the banquet managers yelling at the staff. Is this what my wedding is going to be like? I hope not. I've been to other showcases, and walked away much happier. Maybe it was just an off night.

OMG!! Someone asked her if she knew what the cheeses were and she said yes. And that was all she said..just yes..it was weird...

Most of the servers were under 21. My FH felt compelled to ask the valet if he was old enough to drive (I was embarrassed but it was funny).

My FH said the same thing about training the staff. One of the BM threw a plate onto a serving tray and looked frantic. My FH had similar concerns, but I feel like they save the best staff for the weddings on the weekends. We too have been to several other showcases and the service was much better.

I am not going to worry about it. They have been in the business long enough to know what they have to do and hopefully they will be better prepared to do it next time. In this industry every event puts your reputation on the line, but I will still give them the benefit of the doubt.

I did notice that a lot of the staff were young, but it's probably pretty typical to hire HS and college kids----I worked in a hall when I was that age too.

I thought the food was good.---although the pasta from the pasta station was cold. I wish they had more than 1 preferred vendor for an officiant. Of course I didn't win any prizes. I noticed that they did get rid of those horrible drapes and the new carpet was really nice. It was helpful to see the room all set up....now I definitely want some kind of high centerpiece.
