Long Island Churches

Hi everyone!

This is my first post and I have to admit I am not very familiar with Long Island, but reading all of your posts has been so helpful.

My dream location to get married is Oheka Castle, and I am going to look this weekend. While I am in the area, I would like to look at a few churches. It is very important to both of us to get married in a Christian Church. Does anyone have any suggestions of Churches in Long Island (preferably near Oheka)?

I REALLY appreciate all of yor help!

Thank you!

Re: Long Island Churches

How about saint patricks in huntington? Also this link was posted a while ago by some one. It may be helpful: Diocease of Rockville Center I believe there is a listing on the site of all the churches.

Re: Long Island Churches

Thank you Debbie!

We are not Catholic, but the webpage is very informative! I really appreciate your help. If anyone else knows of any Christian, but not Catholic, churches, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Long Island Churches

I know there's a few churches in Huntington Village:
Central Presbyterian Church (240 Main St., Huntington Village)
St. John's Episcopal Church (12 Prospect St., Huntington Village)

Maybe this link will help: CitiDexli.com (churches)

Re: Long Island Churches

Your best bet might be to try and find an Episcopal church. They are usually the most leniant when it comes to letting you get married there if you are not a member of the parish. I was married at St. Luke's in Sea Cliff (maybe a 20 min drive from Oheka). I absolutely LOVE St. John's in Cold Spring Harbor (5min from Oheka). It is on 25A right behind the fish hatchery. It is right on a big pond - Really, really beautiful. They are, however, a bit strict on who can marry there. They require that you are a member of the parish - By that they mean donate money. They were willing to let us marry there but required us to make donations which I wasn't too comfortable with. St. John's in Huntington Village is supposedly much more leniant. There is also a very pretty Episcopal church in Northport Village right on Main Street.
Good luck!
