I'd like to know too. I'm trying to narrow down the people I'm going to make appointments with.

Re: Long island sound or Tommy Tunes?
I'm booked with After Hours but LI Sound was our 2nd choice. Great reviews and I just enjoyed their showcase. Very professional and very nice equipment.

We went with LI Sound. We loved their vibe and they gave us tons of stuff for a great price!

We may be having duplicate weddings. LOL
We were debating between LI Sound and Tommy Tunes also. Tommy Tunes were definitely less expensive, BUT we ended up with LI Sound mainly because of their booth set up. Chris told us they are designing a Mahogany set up that will apparently match the TC Room.

Tommy Tunes and LI Sound are the 2 dj companies I went and met with. I liked TT initially, but then was blown out of the water by LI Sound. We really meshed with Scott and felt like he really got the vibe we were going for. Like a PP said, LI Sound IS more expensive than Tommy's Tunes, but I feel like they are worth it.

Re: Long island sound or Tommy Tunes?
TOMMY TUNES!!!!!!! They were my FAVORITE Vendor!! I can't tell you how many people said the music was the best they had ever heard at a wedding. My MC told me at the end of the night that he was glad to see he had a hard time getting people to sit down to eat! My wedding ended very late and 99% of my guests stayed until the end of the very last song. I give all the credit to TT and Joe E. our MC!
They are such wonderful people to work with and you will NOT be disappointed!
I met with LISound too and felt I was treated like a client, with Tommy Tunes I felt like family from day 1

Re: Long island sound or Tommy Tunes?
I definitely would use Tommy Tunes. Tommy just treated us like family and was completely just what we were looking for. He even filled out a contract so all we have to do is sign and we're booked. (He's a little far for us to go all the way back there just to sign on the dotted line)

Friends of ours had LI Sound at their wedding & I loved the live pieces. The dance floor was packed all night.
Another friend had Bravura & I also liked them as well.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS!!! I HEART TT!! When we met w/ Frank we bs'd w/ him for an hour and a half. Granted he wasn't avail for our day but I am def looking forward to working w/ Joe E.
Then we went directly to LI Sound afterwards and Scott had asked us what kind of music we listened to so he could show us his set up in the back and set it to music. We told him we were the rock type. His response was, 'Well I don't have any of that but this should be good.' Then he puts something on that was STRAIGHT out of the Jersey Shore. Great for some, NOT for us! Then we had also told him we didn't want any crazy club lighting or strobes and that's ALL he showed us. Nothing was personal AT ALL! We were totally turned off and booked w/ TT right after.
Don't mean to bash them but I just remember how we totally just felt like a number to them.

Re: Long island sound or Tommy Tunes?
I felt comfortable and at home with LI Sound as i did with tommy tunes but when you go to LI Sound they show you everything they offer and it was easier for us to see what kind of lights we wanted. We were just blown away with LI Sound and it was only a difference in prices from Tommy Tunes of about $300. Plus when we saw them at our friends wedding we were completely blown away on how the dance floor was PACKED the whole night. It actually made us giddy for our wedding.

Re: Long island sound or Tommy Tunes?
We had LI Sound at our wedding and I LOVE THEM! <3
We never met with TT though, but we did go to a wedding who had TT and we were not impressed with the MC, the music was good, nothing super, and their photo montage was a little cheesy. It could have been TT, it could have been the couple.
We initially saw LI sound at Land's End NYE party in 2008 and we knew that would be the DJ for us (we weren't even engaged yet!). Then I saw them at a showcase and the love affair continued... Then I met with a few DJ's and was BLOWN AWAY by LI Sound... Professional, top of the line, state of the art, beautiful equipment and set ups, competitive pricing, and phenomenal staff. We had Mike as our MC and Steven as our DJ. Prior to the wedding I met with Vito and went over all of the music we wanted (and didn't!). If he didn't have the version of the song I was looking for he downloaded it right there! I also told them 'I really like these songs and want them played, but you guys are professionals. Play what the crowd wants! Keep them on the floor!' Night of the wedding: Dance floor packed all night long, Mike was superb, and the music was just right!
