Long Island Travel info

Does anyone know where I can get free/inexpensive travel info for Long Island for my OOT guest bags? Maps, brochures, things to do on july 4th weekend etc.
Thank you

i've never been, but i was thinking maybe on the LIE by exit 54 or so, there is that old railroad car, that they made into a rest stop/guest stop.

I got my guides/maps from the Uniondale Marriott for free bc I blocked rooms there.

If you blocked rooms at a hotel, check to seee if they will give you some.

Try the Long Island Convention and Visitor's Bureau website:
www.licvb.com
or this website www.longisland.com

There's a Visitor's Center on the Southern State Parkway around exit 15 (i think) it's on the south side of the parkway. You can probably pick up brochures and stuff there. Hope this helps!

Sorry to tell you the Convention and Visitors Bureau does not give out more than 5 brochures. There is a certain amount of brochures printed for the year and they just don't have them to give out. What would happen if they ran out.
Same thing goes for the visitor centers on the southern state parkway and the LIE those are part of the bureau and you can't just stop in their and ask for 50 or so without them calling the bureau and making sure that is ok.

Yes all the hotels on the Island have brochures in every room for your guests to read and look at.

Last week I went to pick up my brother in law at the airport and they had a whole bunch of stuff on LI attractions and what not. This was the macarthur airport.

Part of the Bureau, Sorry.

If you haven't realized it by now, yes I work for the Bureau.

If you call us in March when our new 2005 Travel Guides should come out and we still have some leftovers from 2004 we will gladly give you those if they are not needed. Same information different cover.
