Are you wearing a long line bra under your dress? They are so uncomfortable and really not very supportive, my seamstress was trying to talk me into one but I'm just getting a regular strapless bra sewn into the dress.
mine is very comfortable...i had it fit to my measurements at mary's corsettiers...perhaps the one you were trying on at the bridal shop wasn't fit correctly. usually they aren't, I know the one at the place I got my dress was not very supportive, whereas the one from mary's is VERY supportive.

A longline actually offers more support than a regular strapless bra does. You can also have your longline sewed into your gown just as you would a strapless bra for that extra support.
If it's fitted to you righ it should be pretty comfy.. I guess as comfy as any bra could be
