Long night last night

Long night last night

Just need to vent my frustrations and annoyances...

My daughter is going to be 2 in a month.. I started working in an at home daycare earlier this year and it worked out perfectly.. I could still be with my daughter and work at the same time...
Welllll... Since she started daycare she is continually getting sick... Its driving me crazy... She NEVER EVER got sick until starting daycare, and this is supposed to be a WELL daycare ONLY.... Never the case.. But thats a whole different long story....

Anyways....
She woke up Friday night burning up with a fever... When I took her temp. Saturday morning it was between 103 and 104 so I rushed her to the DR and they tell me.. 'Oh she is fine'
Im like NO she isnt fine, a child doesnt break out with a fever of 103 for no reason...
She whatever I do the whole tylenol/motrin alteration thing all day Saturday and Sunday...
Finally Sunday night I had enough of this 103 temp and take her to the ER..
Turns out she has coxsackie
My poor baby...
So me and FH spent hours in the hospital watching our daughter get catheterized, rectal temped, and poked with needles for blood work and IVs...
I was and still am so pissed with her DR and this daycare for letting kids come in WITH coxsackie...

And now I have it

Sorry so long...
Had to just get it out!

OMG Im so sorry. Thank goodness you caught it now before it lead to more serioud problems. Is this common in children? Ive never heard of it. Hope you all feel better soon. Your poor baby that must have been so hard for you watching them do that to her in the ER.

Its more common in children...
Its 'hand, foot, mouth disease'
You get sore white blisters all down your throat, tongue, cheeks, and gums....
Its supposed to feel like strep throat but 10 times worse...
So shes in ALOT of pain...

It was so hard watching them do all that to her... And it didnt help that me and FH were the ones that had to hold her down while they did it all to her...

Im so sorry that your daughter has this! I actually had this when I was a sophomore in high school! I worked at a toy store and i must have gotten it there. It was awful. I couldnt eat for a week. I had one carvel shake and that was the best thing ever. Lots of ice to numb the stinging! I hope she feels better!!

that's ashame. I'm a preschool teacher so I know exactly what you're talking about with kids getting sick in daycares. At the last place I worked they'd always let kids come in sick (even if they had ringworm) which made me SO mad, because I didn't want anymore of my students OR ME getting sick. Such a pain.

I hope your baby girl gets better soon!!

Coxsackie is a bltch! Crazy contagious and awful to deal with. It just spread through my girlfriend's whole family, including the baby she sits for and his mother. A NW'er also got hit with it. It's really bad this year I imagine - I've never heard of it before but lately it's ALL I hear about!

I am so sorry to hear that! The poor baby! I used to work in a day care myself so I am quite familiar with that one! My nephew and niece had it not too long ago. It stinks. She will be better soon have no fear!!
