I feel so torn between bridesmaid dress length. I plan on picking the color and fabric but having each girl pick their own style. I just want the lengths to be the same. Since I am getting married at the beginning of November, I am not sure if short dresses are appropriate for the time of year. The weather is so temperamental. I like the short dresses, and I feel like they are also more likely to wear them again, but I don't want anyone freezing during pictures. I def think long dresses give a more elegant feel, but the dresses are more expensive. Thoughts? I thought maybe as part of their bridesmaid gifts if I went with short dresses, I'd get them shawls to go with the dress because of the weather. I feel so confused.

Long or short bm dresses??? - Long Island Weddings
It depends what kind of feel you're going for. What is your required attire? If you're going for the black tie or black tie optional route, long dresses is definitely more formal. If the dress code is a little more relaxed then shorter dresses are the way to go. Hope this helps!

It's definitely not black tie or black tie optional, late Sunday wedding. Just want everyone looking appropriate for the time of year. Thanks for your help!

Ask your girls what they would rather wear.i think short dresses are easier to wear again but the long definately more elegant looking in pics. Wheni brought it up wiyh my girls they all agreed they want long ones. And my wedding is August

I prefer long especially in November when my legs are pale. Personally I have never worn a bridesmaid dress again and I have worn short, long and all colors and never put it on again after the wedding. But it's up to you

I did this too! We all got Bill Levkoff dresses in plum chiffon and got short dresses... I am a fan of short dresses, but I do see how long dresses might be better for November. Burton's had long chiffon dresses for like 160-170ish and the short ones were like 150, so the price wasn't too different

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I'm leaning towards long as long as I can find a relatively inexpensive brand. Does anyone know of a more inexpensive brand for dresses besides davids bridal? They didn't have a very large assortment of chiffon long dresses. Thanks again ladies!

I agree, I would do long in November. I'm pretty sure I'm doing short but my weddings smack dab in the middle of the summer. It is an evening-formal wedding but I think I can get away with short dresses. I think they're so cute and fun!
