I have my dress and i love it. Actually i haven't tried it on since Feb., but i hope i still love it when i put it back on! I always wanted a cathedral veil, but i think i might loose the back of the dress, the bow and the pleats.
i don't know its hard to tell from looking at the picture but I'm leaning towards a shorter one so u can see the back of it...

Your dress is beautiful! But I too LOVE Cathedral length veils -Can you have best of both for a bit? Maybe you can have the long veil for the ceremony and then switch to a short veil for cocktail hr with your dress behind you, and then bussel your dress for the reception for dancing.

Re: Long or Short VEIL!
it is hard to tell because I too also wanted a long veil but then when I got my veil I opted for a fingertip because it had detailing on it and you saw it better in the fingertip version over the cathedral. I think it depends weather or not the veil is plain or detailed

Think about what you want to see more in your pictures. Both would go but I think a horter one would be better because you will see the detail of the dress as you walk down the aisle

Re: Long or Short VEIL!
i actually think a very simple long veil would be better.....when your dress comes in i would try it on with both types of veils to decide.

I agree....I could see this looking amazing with a simple ribbon trimmed cathedral veil for the ceremony..........

Re: Long or Short VEIL!
when you say short how short are you talking?
the veils i have seen come in 3 lengths. really short (elbow length), medium length (finger tips), & cathedral.
i personally don't like the really short ones because they tend to cut your body in a funny place. IMO cathedral length ones pull on your head too much for my liking & some hide the detailing on the back of dresses. i think that you should go with a finger tip length veil. maybe you can get some beading to match your sash.

Re: Long or Short VEIL!
I have a preference to longer veils, but there is detailing in your dress that will be lost with a longer veil. Try both on and see which looks better. If you like the way the longer veil looks, you can always take the veil off after the ceremony so that your dress can be on full display. Either way, short or long, definitely a simple veil!

ITA - my dress has someback detailing and that is exactly what I got - a simple ribbon trimmed cathedral veil and it looks beautiful. The back of the dress did not get lost in the veil. Try on both types to see what you prefer and what looks better!

i personally LOVE cathedral length veils, which is what i got even though i have so much going on on the back of my gown they can always bustle your veil as well!
