I tried on a dress that **might** be it, but i'm not sure... I want to look at it on other brides (online) so i can get a better idea of what it looks like in real life, but the salon wouldn't tell me who the designer was.
It was a lace trumpet cut dress, and the sample was a sort of grey color called Oyster.
Does anybody know what designers make 'oyster' colored dresses???
btw, i would order it in ivory, but i though maybe the fact that it comes in oyster might be helpful in identifying the designer.
i know chances are slim, but you girls have answered crazier questions!!
Price range or where you tried it on maybe be helpful. Certain stores carry certain designers. Ex: If it was the Wedding Salon in Manhasset you'd have very different options then a Village Bridal in Babylon.

Re: Long Shot
Pretty sure (if I remember correctly, I could be wrong) Paradise is one salon that cuts the labels out of the dresses so you don't know which designer it is And they don't carry Sophia Tolli... but is that where you tried it on?

Re: Long Shot
thanks girls! I'll be looking at all of these designer's websites when i get home from work today.
I tried the dress at Paradise, and it was priced at 1200, if that helps.
It was all lace and trumpet cut, and it had a straight across neckline, with scalloped edges around the bottom of the dress.
does that ring a bell to anybody??
I really really appreciate all the suggestions!

You shouldn't have to guess who makes it! I'm sorry if this sounds wrong, but if I walk into a salon and there is a dress without a designer, I'm not buying anything! You could tell me it's Vera Wang when really it's not and then try to charge me a crazy amount.
JMO, but I say you look around for the dress with a tag or find a different, but similar once since you are unsure if it's the one.

How would it be illegal? It's their samples, they can do what they please with them. Now is it RIGHT? IMO, no. I bought my dress from Paradise and they were okay with telling me the designers. Another hint in case anyone else is in this situation... sometimes even though they cut the tags out, they forget to cut the strap to hang the train up. Sometimes the designer has their name on that strap as well. It's worth a shot. I found out the designer's of a few dresses that way!

Re: Long Shot
OK, so since it was Paradise, I can tell you for sure it wasn't Sophia Tolli even though they do make Oyster colored dresses. The dress I had my eye on and wound up buying was Sophia Tolli and they didn't stock them there. Good luck!
