Long Situation ... need opinion

My friend is in such a TOUGH position.... shes getting married in 3 weeks!!!!!!!!
and she thinks FH is cheating on her...

I WITNESSED all this
they dont live together...the other day he slept over her house and we were all up watching movies all night, eating, etc.. and at 1 AM .. he gets a text so she playfully runs toward the fone..lemee see which one of your friends are disturbing us...

WELL the text says from 'Jen' and the girl writes: 'so tired just got outta work, whats up with u' or something to that nature...

i mean shes NEVER heard of this friend before so why on earth another girl is texting his phone telling him shes outta work ...was my BIGGEst concern for her

Anyways....so than he grabs the fone from her...and he wont give it to her..she insists and than he does give it to her...and she looks through the OUTBOX mssg...and hes the one who iniated the text mssgs 3 of them
saying 'hey whats up' ' nothing just chillen' and 'what are u doing tonite' ...

and i guess she responed n stuff..to his texts

and than her FH got ANGRY...because she [my friend] got mad..he was just like i swear were all friends we were planning on hanging out...etc etc..
so i mean why wouldnt he tell her they were planning a hang out??? Hes in school to get his MAsters so the woman was apparently in his class
and than i dunno what happened i LEFT there house..clearly they needed alone time

shes not even sure what to do...and neither do I... Wedding is 3 weeks away...he DENIES he did ANYTHING wrong..and just keeps telling her shes over reacting...

im not even sure if its worth it for her to throw her marriage over for some stupid texts, but than again who the hell knows if met this woman alone or what not

what would you guys make of this situation???

p.s- they are not from NY and are not signed up on LIW

Well this cant be a good thing that hes recieving text messages from a mysterious girl named Jen at 1 in the morning. This girl has alot to discuss with her FH and alot to think about. This is definilty not proof that hes cheating on her or anything but it is proof that he is iniating things with other girls, for example giving girls in his class his number or asking them for theirs, which may or may not lead to something more. This is a tough situation to be in...and i hope this can be resolved for her sake and his.

I am a psycho so I would take that girl's number and call her on my own time. I would just be honest and tell her the situation....she may not even know he's engaged...or maybe it really was a school GTG!

I always overreact but it's definitely not the best way to go

That's actually not so crazy... there's always the chance the girl could lie but I'd want to hear from her regardless and then try to figure it out.
And of course she's got to talk to her FH. With a wedding 3 weeks away, it can't wait. She can't marry him if it's in the back of her mind he could be cheating. Especially since he's being so defensive about the whole thing it sound suspicious to me. They need a looooong talk.
Best of luck to your friend. Keep us updated on what happens with them. for it all to work out.

Whether or not he 'did' anything with this girl is not the point. He is clearly interested in this woman for some reason and feels like he needs to hide that from his FW. The secrecy is a big problem. It is a big red flashing warning sign. The fact that he got mad at her is also very telling. If it was really no big deal, he would have told his FW about his friend 'Jenn.' I feel bad for your friend. I would not want to be in her situation.

OK there re girls that text FH at all hours (he works nights) but I have met all of them. I trust FH explicitly, but you wee there and witnessed it, I guess if it were me (in your friends exact situation) I would have called that #. GL, I hope everything works out for your friend!

This is a tuff situation. My suggestion is that they seek counseling before their wedding. Whether anything is or is not going on- this situation could lead to a lot of other insecurities. Going into a marriages with these types of issues could lead to unnecessary stress and heart break. A few counseling would not hurt the relationship- it could make it stronger. Best of luck!

I agree- whether or not he's cheating on her it still def. raises trust issues...i know i'd freak if FH got a text from a mysterious girl i had never heard of, let alone one at 1am asking what he's doing that night!

Re: Long Situation ... need opinion

She needs to find out what's going on ASAP. At any other time, I'd probably say let it go, it's probably just a friend, people in school do have friends of both sexes--but they're getting married in three weeks. If he's cheating on her, three weeks before the wedding, she needs to dump his ***. A person who would do that is completely untrustworthy. I'm down to the last week before my wedding, and I can't tell you how close and how emotionally tight my FH and I have become in the last few weeks, as we know we're making this huge commitment so soon in the future. That's how it should be--not sleeping with someone else!!

So, she can't let this drop, she needs to find out what's going on, and if he has a problem with that, he needs to explain why he's texting some other girl so close to their wedding. If it really is nothing, then he needs to learn why it's so wrong of him to do that--right before their wedding, it's very, very wrong to risk something like this happening. Any woman would freak out--I'm sure if she was texting some random guy he'd totally freak out. And if he is cheating, then she should call off the wedding. Period. Unless she's OK with a husband who cheats on her, because he's not going to stop, and it shows that he has absolutely no respect for her, and that will come out in other ways too.

And if he does get upset about it, she can say to him, 'What would YOU do if you found out I was texting a strange guy three weeks before our wedding?'

I hope it all works out. If not...she should count herself lucky that she escaped before she married a cheater who doesn't respect her.
