I know this isn't on your list... but tell her to also look into the North Ritz Club! It isn't as well known as the others, but it is beautiful!!!

Crest Hollow CC : My RH....love it. Thomas is awesome. If you go there ask to speak with him.
Smithtown landing: Had my Sweet 16 there. Don't remember the details. Nice area though.
Thatched Cottage : Looked there for my Sweet 16. There is a room downstairs that was like a dungeon.
Atlantis Marine World : Heard the food is HORRIBLE and it smells like fish no matter where you go.
Girgios: Sisters prom was there. Very Very nice inside. Believe they redid the inside a few years ago.
Captain Bills : Sis' engagement party was there. Great food.

Crest Hollow CC
The only thing I like about it is their outside area. Everything else seems like a huge wedding warehouse. It is not personal, sometimes 3-5 events at the same time. The service is not goo, the food even worse..

I agree with this. My sister was telling me about a wedding she went to recently there....when she walked in, there was staff standing there waiting for you and asking, 'which wedding are you here for?' and then they'd direct you to the room. She said that there must have been at least 3 weddings starting at the same time. Also, the cocktail hour was around the pool, and on the other side of the pool was another wedding's cocktail hour. I think that would be strange for the brides. You look across the pool and there is another bride!

We are having our wedding at Floral Terrace July of 2009. I absolutley love the place and the customer service is exceptional. I saw quite a few places but Floral Terrace really came in with the best overall deal and seems to really care about their customers!

I've heard great things about Cpt Bills, I 'm having mine at Georgio's and have heard nothing but great things (except for parking/valet) and I used to go to CLM all the time for events, not crazy about the food.

i went to a wedding at the chateau le mer. the food was soooo good and it was a very nice room. they also got a great price. i went to a shower at the meadow club, it was also very nice but i think the chateau is better for a wedding.

you should add Larkfield Manor to the list. Can't say enough good things about it.

I just went to a few of these places to book my wedding.
The Crest Hollow I was not thrilled with at all, The scenery was good in some spots and eh in others, the guy i talked to had no interest that i was there and there were a lot of extras I would need to pay for (like exta for an outdoor ceremony and/ or coctail hour vs an indoor one)
The Woodbury CC will be undergoing construction soon(2009) and was told depending on the date, they may not even be booking yet do to the construcion, but I had my prom there and that place is georgeous. We did get food poisioning from the Chicken that night, but that was a few years back.
The guy at Chateau La Mer was a pain in the butt and had an attitude when I was going to see it I was also told by a few people that their food was like greek diner food.
I have been to was the bridgeview Yacht club which was pretty nice and the food was okay, but i did not go here to look for a wedding.
We did wind up booking the Fox Hollow which if she has time to see, I strongly recommend. The food and scenery is wonderful and I got the best price from them with a bunch of 'throw ins'

Re: Look at these reception halls-- any feedback?
My wedding is at CLM next April and we loved it. We didn't even look anywhere else and Bill and Lou were both very very helpful. The tasting was amazing as well, I've heard nothing but good things.
I went to a wedding at Thatched Cottage and that was great as well except it had low ceilings and the room was narrow and long so it was like being in a big line.
If she's having a large or even average size wedding, I wouldn't recommend Atlantis. It's very cool but there are 3 tables in the back because they had so many people and we couldnt see the dance floor or hear anything that was going on.

I've been to Thatched Cottage and Chateau La Mer- both weddings were beautiful! You can't go wrong with either one.
I would like to see Captain Bill's, I heard great reviews from people who just went there for lunch, so I'm sure weddings will be gorgeous also...
I got married at Woodbury Country Club in November, and everything was beyond amazing. The grounds are gorgeous, the service is impeccable, and the food is outstanding. Feel free to fm me if you or your sister have any specific questions.

I got married at Giorgio's - highly recommend it. The food is amazing and the decor and grounds are beautiful.
I've been to a lot of work functions at Capt. Bills and always liked it too.

That's great to hear that they didn't treat you any differently because you weren't having 250+ people. We're having only about 90 people because my fiance and I both have small families. I think we're going to do a Sunday Brunch there. Did you have your wedding on Sunday afternoon or Saturday night?

Crest Hollow CC Woodbury CC Chateau La Mer
I'm going to tell you exactly what I thought of these places as I appreciated people doing the same for me even if it wasnt pleasant.
Crest Hollow CC- I didnt like the decor in the lobby (lots of gold and seemed outdated) although the rooms were ok. I loved the grounds in the back.
Woodbury CC- It was our second choice. I loved the grounds. The room they were going to put us in was downstairs and i liked how it goes right into the back of the building into the courtyard.
Chateau La Mer- A lot of girls on here love it. I didnt have a good experience when I went to look at it. I notice everything so I saw the window treatments were ripped and frayed. Also I saw that the chairs were stained. I did like how beautiful it is being on the water and all.
Just MOH.
I'm biased, but I noticed you dont have the Fox Hollow down on there. Its right down the road from CrestHollow and Woodbury CC. Worth checking it out! Good Luck!
