Looked at out first hall today! + a question

So we went down and looked at our first location today.. the GW Manor in Roslyn.

We really liked it, and the person we talked with was very nice....

Depending on the day / night we were told it would be between $67 - $90 a person... from what we've heard so far thats about average..

We plan on having between 100-125, so if anyone knows of other halls in Nassau County that is around the same price range as GW Manor, we would appreciate it.

What we liked about GW Manor is that the price includes the flowers, centerpieces, and the wedding cake..... Is this standard for most places now?

We really liked GW and will be setting up a tasting session, but we just were curious what else was out there that would be comprable, just so we have other places to look at.

Thanks so much,

Regina & Brian

We had our reception at Crest Hollow for approx. $90 p/p and we only had to guarantee 125 for a Friday night in Nov.

Its right on the Nassau/Suffolk border so I thought it might be an option.

We looked at GW manor too but thought it was too small for our 150 guests.

no centerpieces, flowers is not usually included in the price you pay per person, its usually seperate in many hall's ...some places however do throw in the wedding cake or an ice scuplture etc.

you can try Leonard's of Great neck, its the same price range.... [of course im biased] since im getting married there.

theres numerous places you can look at
Woodbury Country Club- Woodbury
Jericho Terrace- Mineola
Sands of Atlantic Beach- Atlantic Beach
Floral Terrace- Floral Park
Chateu Briand
Chateu Le Mar
North Ritz Club

....the list goes on! good luck w/ everything

Crest Hollow in Woodbury-my brother is getting married there for a very resonable price. The Riviera in Massapequa is beautiful (right on the water). Westbury manor is very pretty. You can't go wrong with any of these places.

GWM was one of the first places we looked at too! We originally wanted a Sat. night but ended up switching to a Fri. night because we didn't meet the Sat. night minimum at the place we loved.

You might want to take a look at:
Swan Club
San Souci
Fox Hollow
Westbury Manor (not sure of the $ but I know they have a smaller room for sat. night)

are the flowers including the bo-ks? i had my wedding at the milleridge (same thing) and only roses were included as centrepieces ( i got 6 6rose centrepieces). ask exactly what is included in the flowers, and what is in your package. i did find milleridge very reasonable price wise, but they do not budge on the price at all.

eta- i had the cake included and i used the centrepieces as CH centepieces and i went with another florist for my reception centrepieces and bo-ks and such.

Sans Souci is near the GW. They include the reception flowers and wedding cake in the price and they have several menu packages to choose from. Their house florist who does the reception flowers has really reasonable prices for the bridal party and ceremony flowers. They have the perfect amount of space for 125 guests and they have a gorgeous view overlooking the water. HTH.

thanks again for all the support....

Leonard's is out..... that's where my mom got married, and we think it would be bad luck to get married where she got married. LOL

GW does not include the Bo-K flowers...

I will call around to those other places first thing on Monday... I know we submitted a contact form to Sans Souci, havent heard back yet.

Hi: You may like Verdis on Old Country Road in Westbury. The place is beautiful and they give you alot for your $. I was quoted 60 for a Sunday evening. Saturday is not much more. The only reason I didn't chose them is the cocktail hour is downstairs and they have no elevator. It would present a problem since I have a few people who use canes. I then chose Koenigs in Floral Park. I am paying 56 pp. Its a very nice place also, but not very scenic. Those 2 places charge extra for flowers. Good luck

The Riviera in Massapequa does a package deal similar to that, too, and is a VERY impressive place. If I didn't have my heart set on the Crescent, I would have gone with the Riviera. It's GORGEOUS. Check that out!

The Riviera is about right for the amoung of guests that you plan to have. I think thier maximum is 180, and their price includes the centerpieces and the cake. You'd have to check with them about the flowers.
