Looking at the Millridge Inn

Hey everyone! My Fh and I were looking at the Milleridge Inn and i was wondering if anyone could possibly share experiences from weddings attended or had there! We wanted to know if the food was good at the carriage house and we went there tonight to have dinner at the cottage house and learned that the food was not the same as in the resteraunt! We asked the manager about a food tasting but we were told not until we made the down payment to reserve the room! B4 we go ahead and do that we wanted to find out more! Please FM personally or respond to post! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks all!

IMO its good that the food at the Carriage House is different from the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is not that great. I looked at the Cottage House. It was very beautiful. I really liked the cocktail room. It felt like you were in a green house or something. We didn't go with it because we want to get married at the reception location and they didn't have a good system for that. Also, FH wasn't impressed with it.

Good Luck!

I booked the milleridge. While other people weren't 'impressed' with it, FH and I really loved it. We did have our tasting and were blown away by the food. I made sure to book the tasting right before we made our down payment because I did hear bad reviews about the food but then we found out the cottage has a different chef than the restaurant.

My wedding is scheduled for Milleridge Cottage for August 31, 2008 and we did a tasting of the food prior to putting down a deposit. Call and ask for Debbie R. at the Cottage, she gave me no problem when I told her we wanted to do a tasting.

Don't eat beforehand, they give you a TON of food.

My fiance and I had dinner (way after we booked and did the tasting at the Cottage) at the Restaurant and I can assure you that the Cottage food is WAY better!

Good luck!

I'm deleting my post because it was very rude and obnoxious based on my own bad 'meeting with them' ... I am very sorry to have offended anyone. I hope you won't all hold it against me.

I wanted to do my shower there and still would love to. We looked at it for a wedding and I decided against it.

1. Too many things going on at once. I didn't want to share the lot and the overall space with a full service restaurant and another event.

2. Standing in the lot on a cloudy day I couldn't take my eyes off a donation drop box that was clear in my view. That awful big parking lot was kind of ugly and I saw a nice view of Marshall's and some other stores like connected to Millridge area.

I think I was also turned off by the service they gave us. We had a meeting with them and couldn't find them for some reason and my mom thought they should have just met us outside. Instead, we were walking into people's receptions!

This was just my experience. The food is awesome there and it's right off the parkway so it's a good location and so pretty. I personally just wanted to do it by the water and in a more quiet type area.

Just to note, most people do not have their weddings in the actual restaurant. If you have your wedding in the cottage or carriage house, it is a single party venue and there will be no donation box unless you put one there. Also, it's not nice to say the awful big parking lot was kind of ugly, I'm getting married there and I take offense to that.

I'm sorry. I'm a jerk. That was very rude and I apologize. I should have thought before I spoke. I would be very hurt if someone said such nasty things about my RH.

Ditto Jess. I know Blugirlny apologized, but people really need to think before they post stuff or atleast think of the way they are wording it. This is supposed be the most special day of our lives and by someone posting that their first impression of my WEDDING would be 'wow, the parking lot is ugly' is pretty harsh. This isn't directed at one person or just my RH, its something in general people should think about. Just my two cents.

Wow, I just stummbled upon this post...

IMHO.....Millridge Inn rocks! I've been to one wedding there and we had my sister's college graduation party there. The food was great and they had a super courteous staff.

Trust me, if I could delete it all, I would. I am sorry for saying that. I feel awful. It was a horrible thing to say

Apologies to everyone getting married there. Seriously.

I wasn't targeting you, I was saying in general. I know you didn't mean anything by it.
