looking for ...

for one of my DIY projects, i need to buy wooden dowels that are thin (about 1/8 inch diameter) and about 12 inches long (give or take a few)

i was considering buying large pick-up sticks (they're about 9 inches long) but i'm not sure if that would work.

does anyone have any other ideas of what i should buy for this? it can be any material as long as the stick will be sturdy.

thanks so much!

I'm not sure where you live, but whenever we can't find something at Michael's or AC Moore, we try Lady Jane. It's a huge craft store on Cross Bay Blvd. in Queens.
