Looking for a Keepsake Album...

I'm having a hard time finding one that's not gender-specific, or not too 'babyish'...I'm not into the ducks and bears, etc!!!!!

I really want to have this for the hospital so we can put Peanut's footprints in there!! Any suggestions?? I've tried BRU, BBBaby and a few dept. stores...even checked out a few card stores!

Hmmn... I don't know what you are looking for exactly. Do you want something completely blank or something that is printed with different pages to fill in? If you want the latter, I think they are always going to have some kind of babyish look to them, although not necessarily duckies. I got a really cute one for Luke that is based on the book Goodnight Moon. I got it at Filene's basement. This was last summer but the best ones I've seen are in places like Filenes and Marshalls, believe it or not. You definitely have to have the book for the hospital. I still can't believe how small Lukie's feet were!! I also filled in stuff about the weather, news and other things I might forget if I didnt do it right away.

Hope youre feeling good

I would also check into a few more cardstores. I also saved the front page of every newspaper I could find from the day Justin was born. This way he knows what the headlines were when he came into the world

Thanks, ladies!! I did find one this morning at Hallmark, although it's not exactly what I wanted, but I'm getting desperate! Pick Quick didn't have any I liked.

Great idea about the newspaper clippings, Heather!!

You know what the headlines were all about when Lukie was born? Remember the snipers that were killing all those people? I just couldnt write it in his baby book. Luke was born on a very cool date 10/21/02 - 102102

Also - Have your Dh play the lottery with his/her stats....you never know!

Kathi...
I got a few keepsake album/books, but the thing I actually USE (hee hee) is this calendar thingy that my aunt got at Marshalls (I think). It's ADORABLE (i'll ask her where she got it to be certain) and the thing I like the best about it is that each day, I can jot down little things or any milestones that have occurred. I have it hanging in Lyndsey's room and I try to write down something every couple of days...such as 'she smiled at ______ today'; 'had her 2 month check up today...'

Even if you get an album, definitely get some kind of cute calendar to jot things down!

There is a great album company that starts with a K. Post for SonicStef, she will know the company I am talking about. High quality, no bears/ducks/etc...very plain covers that you can decorate yourself or leave plain.

I *love* the keepsake album that I got as a gift at my shower. It's by Kiddy Chronicles, and it's called 'Baby Chronicles.' DH and I found this to be a very comprehensive documentary-style book of baby's first year and all of the important development milestones. I plan on ordering 'School Year Chronicles' when Paul starts school. The books are available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Here's a list of highlights:
A table of contents to direct you quickly to the page you are looking for
A sleeve to hold Baby's birth cards or any oversized mementos
A pre-natal section including checklists and shopping lists to prepare for Baby
Space for ultrasound/sonogram, photos, hand & footprints...
Family tree and family photos
Baby's first words, haircut, birthday party...
A growth chart, immunization schedule and medical & dental history logs
A program for introducing solid foods
Letters to Baby and parent's notes
And lots of space for announcements, baby teeth chart and more....
