I’m new to the site and the whole wedding planning world. Just got engaged a week ago but we are looking for a reception hall already because we want to have the wedding this June. Our problem is that we’re having a relatively small wedding of about 80 people and we do want to have it Saturday night. Also FH is set on a more country style location with a nice outdoor garden or even somewhere in the woods. I also like a place that is not located on the highway.
We really like d the Riviera at the Massapequa but they only have availability for us for Sunday night, which I think will have to compromise on at the end.
Any suggestions for locations for a small wedding in LI area?
I would appreciate any advice I could get :)

Re: Looking for a location for a small wedding
approximately how small? Westbury Manor has a room for a smaller party but June is a popular month and saturday nights are popular too so it'll be hard to find a RH with availability but not impossible

Re: Looking for a location for a small wedding
there is a barn out east that rents out its space. SOOO freaking sweet, we would of done that but its a bit $$$ because you have to rent the place, then find a caterer but its so pretty. Don't remember the name but do a search.

How about one of the wineries. I believe many of them can do a wedding for 80 w/ a tent.

Milleridge Inn, or where I am getting married, Capt Bills in BAyshore. They have smaller rooms to accommodate your size wedding, and its right on the water. check it out. the food and prices are wonderful too.

Yeah we looked at Westbury Manor it was really nice but they're not doing ceremonies outside on Saturday nights because they can't close their restaurant.

Maybe checj out some vineyards out east, can be pricey but if it's a small wedding it could be really nice!

How about George Washington Manor? Sans Souci is also a great choice.

Re: Looking for a location for a small wedding
I got married at the Thatched Cottage and loved it- but we had a 125 minimum for a Sunday night in July.
They do have a smaller room, but if you use it, you do not have access to the beautiful grounds at all. When we booked, they said that there is a possibility that someone might book the smaller room, but if they did, they would not be able to use the grounds -- they were for my wedding only. Nobody did book the small room on my wedding night -- I guess nobody would want to not having access to the grounds
I loved the Riviera -- it was my second choice.
I think the swan club is your best bet -- they have beautiful grounds and a smaller room. They were also the most reasonably priced of the three.

Check out Larkfield Manor...in East Northport. They have a smaller room that is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! They're very reasonable and the food is amazing. What you get for the money is really really good!! Ask for Marianne...she's wonderful!! But so are Harry and George! Tell her Amanda says hi!! I stop in there like once a month to get excited and ask lots of questions!! Good luck!! HTH!!
