Looking for a location for a small wedding

Original post by Kunelsky

Hello to all the brides,

I’m new to the site and the whole wedding planning world. Just got engaged a week ago but we are looking for a reception hall already because we want to have the wedding this June.
Our problem is that we’re having a relatively small wedding of about 80 people and we do want to have it Saturday night. Also FH is set on a more country style location with a nice outdoor garden or even somewhere in the woods. I also like a place that is not located on the highway.

We really like d the Riviera at the Massapequa but they only have availability for us for Sunday night, which I think will have to compromise on at the end.

Any suggestions for locations for a small wedding in LI area?

I would appreciate any advice I could get :)

def try the swan club!!! but im really not sure how easy it will be to get a sat night at this point... they have rooms for smaller parties and amazing gardens... and def not on the side of a road... in fact, its wuite off the beaten path! see my album for images

We went to see the Riviera again. They were having a wedding there at that time and it was simply gorgeous I just fell in love with the place all over again. Now I can't even imagine myself getting married anywhere else. However, one big compromise is that we will have to have it Sunday night (6:00-12:00) and I just can't get used to the idea. I'm afraid some ppl won't come or leave really early.

Any thoughts regarding a Sunday night wedding????

I would not want to have my wedding on sunday. We were just talking about htis last night...at a wedding. Everyone at our table was saying how much they hate Sunday weddings...You want people to let loose...you don't want them leaving because they have to go to work...that is something I wouldn't compromise. There are SOOO many places that will accomodate you on a Saturday...Good Luck to you!

We are also having a wedding around the same size as you are. I looked around a lot, I almost booked the Milleridge Carriage House (it's adorable and unique). But then at the last minute I decided to check out the Westbury Manor and OHMYGOD!!!! I was IN LOVE.....it's AMAZING. The Hill room upstairs has a minium of 60, and it's gorgeous....I was in shock. Definately go look at it, and ask for Lorena, she's my banquet manager...she made me feel so special and she negoticated with me and gave me a GREAT price!!

Good Luck and Congrats!!!
