It depends where you are on LI in terms of the 3 hours but we love going to Cape May in NJ. You can stay at a romantic B&B or at an inexpensive motel by the water. The restaurants are great and range from pub food to upscale dining fare, and the little boutique shops are cute. And, last but not least, I love going into the fudge shops and ice cream parlors

Cape May, NJ
Just went there in early August. It's quaint - with Victorian B&B's.

What town you going to? We got married at a beautiful inn in Milford, would recommend it to anyone (although it's a bit pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion, and our guests LOVED it too!)

We are going to Hawley. We are staying at the Settlers Inn. We are getting married in Oct but aren't going on our honeymoon until the end of March so we are going there for a long weekend in Nov.
