I know a lot of girls have used Sew Deb (sewdeb.com) to make their veils. She does really nice work

Thank you ladies for your quick responses. She's always waiting till the last minute on these details and most vendors , as you know are busy and need more time. We booked Flowerfied and most of our vendors almost 2 years in advance.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

How do you like the work so far?

How is the feel you got from the staff and the vendors themselves?

Thanks,

Thomas

PS

Brooklynbridezilla,

She is about your height. But if you ask her depending on the day she's 4 11, or 5 ft.

I've emailed SewDeb, and she is very quick with her responses. She seems like a very nice lady (she is also about 4'11 ). I'll be sending her my measurements today.

I don't have my appointment at Madame Paulette until August 2nd, so I will post about it then. Its the shoes that decide that extra inch or not!

Re: Looking for custom tailoring and veil makers

Rebecca,

She also found her shoes at David's Bridal. We went to the one in the Source Mall on Friday. Found some flowergirl dress also but have to bring them in. Wasn't impressed with After Hours Tuxes. Where is he getting his? What were his impressions? Suggestions? I have a few places but will be going later today with one of my groomsmen.

Talk to you soon,

Thomas

Rebecca,

Were you a little hesitant about ordering from her online without a physical location to visit. What if she messes up or it's not what you think once you get it?

Another thing I didn't like about the tux place was I get my tux 2 days before my wedding. And can't even try on the same style in the store.

I am have my veil custom made by Kathy at Occansey Designs. She's absolutely wonderful and has been so patient with me while I keep changing my mind on what I wanted.

Here's her website:

I had the lady in the Bridal Salon of Manhasset made my veil. She was great. Her name is Dione and she is there Thursday and Saturdays. The number is 516-869-8455. Good luck!

I don't have any advice for you about tuxes- my FH is wearing a Barong (traditional Filipino wedding shirt). Maybe start a separate post about tuxes?

I wasn't hestitant about ordering online, partially becuase I get a lot of things online, and also because I have seen SewDebs work here a lot. Eogara had her veil done by SewDeb, and it came out amazing.

Re: Looking for custom tailoring and veil makers

I don't mind ordering online if I can go and see it in the store. Cynthia needs to have a physical location so she if she changes her mind or something goes wrong she can take care of it. Especially being the wedding.

She's located somewhere in the midwest I believe, so seeing her work in person would be difficult. I asked her to send me a sample of the tulle and she did right away. I compared it to veils I tried on at the salons and at barron's and it was the same. She has an extensive gallery of her work on the website and if you don't see what you like, she will make it for you. I am getting a 4 tier center-gathered veil - 1 elbow, 2 fingertip and one cathedral. 1 fingertip and the cathedral will be detatchable. I have never seen this veil anywhere and she had no problem helping me.

Re: Looking for custom tailoring and veil makers

I am working with sewdeb as well and she is the nicest person. I sent her pics of my dress and she will do pretty much anything you want and help you find the right veil for the dress. I ordered silk tulle from the UK and had it shipped to her and then she makes the veil to your measurements and requirements.
