Looking For Ideas - Accessory Suggestions for this Suit

Engagement dinner at Tavern on the Green this Saturday...wearing this suit blazer in black (no blouse - just camisole underneath) with the matching suit pants. Either wearing 40's style, T-straps or square toed boots.

Looking for a bold necklace or scarf or whatever - want to add color...give the suit some punch. Any ideas?!

How about a red chunky beaded necklace? Either a chocker to accent your neckline or a drop stone.

Have you checked Lord & Taylor? Red always stands out with black.

No problem! Good luck searching. Bloomingdales may have something too if L&T is a bust.

How about a big flower pin on the jacket? That would spruce it up a bit?

Or a chunky multi strand of black beads around the neck?

Depending on how dressy the camisol is and if you see it enough, how about puling your hair back and wearing just a great pair of chandelier earrings????

Thanks for the suggestions! I like the flower pin idea - but haven't found any I loved. Love the multi-strand idea...but haven't found anything I love.

Sage - I thought about just wearing chandelier earrings and I love the look with the hair pulled back...but I think my hair is too short to pull off the look (at least the way I envision it). I have to play around. I didn't intend on having the camisole peek out at all - it's not a low cut jacket.

You can make a flower pin by just buying a nice fake flower and sewing it to a pin you have (or the jacket directly).

If you work in the city, there are some very cheap costume jewlery shops that have a lot of stuff in the 30s on 5th avenue (?). Its not good quality but its so cheap that its worth it even if you only get one wear out of it. They have a the multistrand things as well as lots of other stuff too.

Another idea (if you can find it) is a broach with brown antiqued beads/stones on it and a great pair of chandelier earrings.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? bag?

I'm wearing either 40s style, T-straps (about 3') or a slim, square-toed ankle boot. Purse...might carry an antique, beaded, black, clutch. So I wanted the color around my neck...wasn't sure if I wanted a choker or more of a dangle or lariat style.

Nothing like waiting till the last minute...

I personally think if you are planning on pulling your hair back and wearing bold chandeleir earings, you don't need a necklace. the jacket isn't that low cut, and wearing a necklace will draw attantion away from the earings.
These are pretty from bloomingdales..

If your hair is that short you won't even have to pull it back...

Here is a leather flower pin I found on the banana website...

I definetly wouldn't do a necklace and chandelier earrings - that's definetly an either or thing, imo. (FH is 'upset' that I'm not wearing any of the diamonds he's given me...he just doesn't understand fashion sometimes!)

So you think a choker would be too much? The neckline isn't as low as I would have liked...but I think I can still pull off something around my neck (I have a long 'ballerina' neck).

I'll have to think about these suggestions some more...thank you all so much!

Yes, I def. think you can do a choker.

Men are oblivious sometimes...

Good luck!
