Looking for reasonable reception location- planning out of town- help!
Hi! I'm trying to find a reception location and trying to plan it from upstate as I finish grad school, ugh!!
I'm looking for something nice but not too outrageously priced.. I'm thinking $100 per head at most (less is better of course!)
I'm not into 'country' or 'homey' looking places- I love Raphael winery but it's just too pricey. I heard Leonard's isn't too bad but I wanted to get some more options.
We are aiming for October of 09! Is October usually one of the cheaper months? I know September can still be expensive.
Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!

Captian Bills. We are getting married there b/c one its on the water (July wedding) and the price. FM if you want the price (I hate posting prices).

Chateau La Mer's prices are very reasonable. Its a lovely place on the water and the food is excellent! Are you looking for a Sat. night, or day wedding?? A day wedding will be cheaper. I think October is still considered peak in many halls. We went with the first weekend in November because the price dropped.
Good Luck!!!

October is the new September in terms of wedding popularity...you may wnat to consider early November for somewhat better prices.
I'm biased towards Leonards because that's where I'm getting married, but here are a couple more: -Caffe on the Green in Bayside, Queens (if you have a small guest list, definitely look into it) -Floral Terrace -Milleridge Inn (spelling might be wrong)

October is still considered peak at most places, and unfortunately November isn't too much cheaper either. If you're set on an October wedding, and want to stay at $100pp (and under) you'll probably have to go with a Saturday/Sunday daytime wedding (and I def. don't mean that in a negative way!).
