Re: looking for reception site for 50 ppl...

You can try a few places: The George Washington Manor did a small, intimate wedding for some close friends. They had a private room and a beautiful meal. They played CDs, so no band or DJ. But they rave about the service and food.
Also, try some Millerridge. Their small room, the carriage house, is a very nice place to have an affair.
Also, some nice resturants may be a good place to look. Some have private rooms. See Claud2001's post of her son's christening recently. She had a great place. Not sure of price but I am sure 50 ppl is a good range for that place. Food was great, room is very nice.

Good luck!

I am having mine in the Europa resteraunt in the Chateau Briand. I think it's just perfect for my small ( 40 person ) wedding.
Very beautiful and very classy looking.

Good luck to your sister!

You can also try the Three Village Inn. I'm having my reception there next June for about 60 people. They offered a great package and I just love the place.

Good luck!!

Re: looking for reception site for 50 ppl...

Our friends had their wedding reception at 'La Pace' in Glen Cove. The food was absolutely incredible. Its a four star restaurant with a dance floor. Our friends had about 75 people all together.

Re: looking for reception site for 50 ppl...

Maybe Danfords in Port Jefferson. She might also want to check out Sans Souci in Sea Cliff. I'm having my wedding there on Friday - It is a pretty small place (they fit up to 140 comfortably but they do luncheons all the time with much less). The food is amazing and the prices are reasonable.

I also would recommend Milleridge Inn for a small wedding.

Re: looking for reception site for 50 ppl...

in Nassau:

Coles House - beautfiully restored house in Glen Cove with all these adorable rooms (not sure if 50 is too large though)

George Washington Manor - another vote for this rustic restaurant in Roslyn - had my e-party there and everyone raved about the place!

Re: looking for reception site for 50 ppl...

I looked at the museum of art...it's nice...beautiful gardens...they do have a site fee and since you have to rent everything it's not cheap

I'm having 60 people at a vineyard...if she's interested in going out east a bunch of the wineries do small weddings
