FH and I decided not to get a videographer, but would like to record only the sound of special moments: for example, the music played at our ceremony (it's a family friend that's singing for us and we want to remember it besides just a photograph of him) and the MOH and BM toasts. Are there such things as people or companies who record sound only at weddings or would you ladies recommend getting some kind of high quality sound recording device? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!!

Re: looking for sound recorder not a videographer
i think it might be easier just to get someone to videotape and then you can extract sound later. i know for stuff like vows and the ceremony, our videographer is going to put a wireless mic on FH.
so just make sure whoever/wahtever you choose the INPUT for the sound is good quality. so wireless mics are a good idea
actually. if you really dont care about video. you could probably just get wireless mics and hook them up to any video camera that you have. then you can just extract the sound on your computer.
maybe go to an electronics store. like B&H or ***.

I've never heard of that. Have you tried asking your band/DJ? They may be able to point you in the right direction.
