You sound so much like me. I spent way too much money on my BMs also (but enjoyed doing it ) I had so much fun finding presents for them. I wanted to buy them flip flops for our spa morning, but I cut myself off.

Like I want to give them all this great stuff-- it's fun.. but they hardly deserve it.. at least they have 'yet' to deserve it.

Well, you are a really generous person.

My BMs were my sister and my best friend from childhood. Neither of them were around much for me. I really did the planning on my own (with the help of LIW women ), and with the help of my DH and my mother.

They did both help me in their own way. It's just hard to explain in writing. I had to prod my sister a lot to help with the programs, but in the end she did an amazing job. I felt so bad doing it, but she had volunteered and promised and I wanted to have programs.

It's tough. Everyone has something going on in their lives. And the more women you have, the more personalities and issues you have to deal with.

I got more support here than from them at times. I think it's because we're all going through something similar.

I know-- sometimes I just want them to just fake beinh excited.. I keep in mind that this is part of my life everyday and to them- it is still months away.. I keep it in perspective..

It's tough. You don't really realize what this is all about until you are going through it. But then, after you've gone through it your new life with your DH kicks in (and maybe even ) and then even though you realize, you're just busy.

Your PG BM I would definately cut slack. Her first child. She must be so excited! I can only image how exciting that is.

yeah-- I completely understand what she is going through-- right now- all I expect of my BMs is to be interested..

I am such a control freak I am most likely not going to ask them to do anything.. With her though-- she kept telling me she was coming to the wedding-- so, I just felt- if you are coming- you should look like a BM an d wear the damn dress- so, whatever.. her and I also work together-- so, everything is slightly escalated... we are around each other all the time.

Yah, it's much more intense when you see someone all the time. (Plus she's pregnant and has the hormones going- possibly). I don't know if she'll make it or not. It's a gamble.

We invited someone who was pregnant and due close to the wedding. She was in labor for 3 days before they would admit her. Finally her husband made them and they did a C section. And then some women have it really easy. You just can't tell.

I am a bit into control also. So it was really tough for me to deal with my sister with the programs. They would have been done in August if it was up to me. Instead we were putting them together on Friday night before the wedding. And of course, everything was fine. But the stress of not being prepared ahead of time...
