Looking to adopt or rescue an Italian Greyhound!!!!

I know this is a pet topic, but my mother wants to get another dog to keep her shih tzu company, she's always wanted to rescue or adopt an Italian Greyhound. Does anyone have any info on what she needs to do to go about doing this?? It would be very helpful. Thanks

There's a Long Island Greyhound Rescue (we donated $$ once). I don't have any info though!

I'm not positive on this, but I don't think Italian Greyhounds race. Therefore, they can't be rescued like normal greyhounds. My parents are pretty involved in greyhound rescue in PA and I've only seen regular greyhounds being saved.

Italian Greyhounds don't race, but of COURSE they can be rescued the same way that a Greyhound can.. or a chihuahua can.. or a poodle can. There are rescue orinazations for EVERY breed. I found more than 3 rescue organizations fro IG's.... check out your post on PETS for the links
