Haha yeah Danielle said if I am going to get one to make it a convertible. So I am looking for a beetle, super beetle or a Karmen Ghia convertible in good condition. I am not looking for a project car.

I forgot about LIW. I guess after being on LIF for so long.......

let me just say - this is my DREAM car. In purple. Even though I hate purple, so it is unexplainable, and yet there you go.

Purple - hmmm never saw it in purple. I have seen mostly yellow, green, and orange. I want a Triple White Convertible. White paint, white top and white interior. Or a white convertible with a Black top and interior. I would also like a Blue convertible.

I found one and the guy took pics and sent them to me. It is a triple white 78 cabrio. He wants $7500 and says it is firm, but there is some rust on the car and it needs a paint job.

I am going to bring this guy that I know with me to look at the car that is a VW fanatic. He knows every part of these cars. He has two.

This is the car

LOVE IT! I never saw a purple convertible, but I did see a dark purple old school Beetle and am now obsessed. I also saw a Pepto Bismal Pink one in Huntington that I also loved. Triple white is an awesome choice. Update us if you get it!

I will

I was supposed to look at a yellow Beetle in seaford and a green beetle in Kings park, but Danielle told me if I was going to get one to get a convertible. They are more money but worth it. Also now is the best time to buy a convertible, and if I want to sell it ever....I would sell it in the summer....and make a profit.

There is a red 79 Super Beetle in a gastation on wantagh and jerusalem ave in wantagh with 29k original miles. Its the last year for the US sold Beetle. He wants $9500 but it is clean. That is too much money for me to spend though

I find it amazing that people are asking that kind of dough! Are they really worth that much?

You should grab a VIN from someplace and see how much insurance would cost you. If you only plan on driving it in the summer, you could qualify for classic car insurance which is much cheaper but has mileage restrictions.

The convertibles are expensive and in the spring and summer will sell fast.

The insurance will be under $180 a year. The car is 28 years old

Mike Seaver had one of those.

sweet! SO want one. But I want it for the sheer novelty of it, since I already own a VW New Beetle convertible. I could be content with a non convertible if the colors were awesomely awesome. Whenever I see one drive by, I am overcome with jealousy.

Good luck!
