Looking to Get Away

for my anniversary in June. Anyone have any ideas? We're looking just for a weekend, someplace clsoe (within driving distance) and affordable. Thanks!

FH and I LOVE Mystic, Connecticut. We go there all the time, just to get away!

Newport, Rhode Island is VERY nice too! We also like Virginia Beach but that's a MUCH longer drive!

Mystic

Mystic is also about 20 mins from Foxwoods too!

Mystic is very nice -
How about . . . Block Island, Shelter Island, Montauk, Martha's Vinyard?

How far do you want to drive? I was looking into going to the Hotel Hershey... a little expensive but ooh so nice! It's about a 3 hour drive I think??

Edited to say it's in Pennsylvania -

Definitely look into Newport, Rhode Island. I love touring all of those mansions and they have some good shopping and restaurants there. (Especially if you like seafood).

we stayed at the Montauk Manor (thanks to Teri) it was so great...if you go during the week...the prices are lower...

The nicest place I've been to that was within driving distance was The Chiltern Inn...at Bar Harbor, Maine. It's such a beautiful town. However, it is about a 7-8 hour drive. We left really late at night, went gambling at Foxwoods for a couple of hours, and drove straight to the Inn.

We basically had our own little wing, we were the only room on the ground floor, and it was right next to the indoor pool (it was huge, and went to 8 ft deep), with an indoor hot tub...an a fireplace in front of the pool!

The most amazing breakfasts, amazing hospitality!

We had the pool and hottub to ourselves! They also have a fully stocked bar next to the pool!

Good luck deciding! Can't wait to hear where you go!

Montauk our all time favorite quick getaway place!
Also Poconos and Mystic is beautiful but haven't been with FH yet.
I would also say Hershey if you are looking for an amusement park type of weekend.

I vote for Greenport, LI. You can walk around the town and it's right on the water. They also have great shopping.
