Looks like 2 of my recently engaged friends are fighting over their dates....

Looks like 2 of my recently engaged friends are fighting over their dates....

And I feel like I am caught in the middle.

One friend has been planning her wedding pretty much for over a year with no date yet b/c they jsut got engaged 3 months ago. But she was very involved in getting her ring..yadda,yadda- so it jsut feels as if she has been engaged for longer. Anyway, she is planning a destination wedding.

The other friend got engaged in the summer and finally booked her wedding for the same weekend as my other friends tentative date.

Now it looks as though between 2 and 4 of us will have to choose.

I know there is nothing I can do about it- just wanted to vent a little. Plus, I'm a little upset over it....

thats so silly there are enough days of the year not to pick the same weekend. have you tried talking to them about it? maybe one will budge?

Yes! Thats the thing....it was pretty much miscommunication but the one that booked knew the other was planning around that time and didnt pick up the phone....but wont admit to it...it really jsut stinks because even they will probably be a day apart ther is no way to do both....

Hopefully it'll work out in everyone's favor.

The one that booked wont budge and the other has so many factors to consider that she might not have a choice. Her fiance only gets certain days because of school, she cant do it around Easter b/c the island is very religious, ummm, she is trying to get the cheapest best rates for family and freinds who are going.

She is going to try but we'll see....

I agree its silly- but it figures of 52 weeks in a year - this happens

i am sorry, but i think the 2nd freind is wrong. what is more important, sharing the day w/ friends or having 'the day/date.'

it'snot right to put you in the middle and have to make a decision of which one to attend.

I'm sorry you are going thru with this - IT IS NOT right for people to be forced to choose between their friends!

Sometimes people are selfish and they won't back down about things is there a way you could NOT have to choose and send them both a gift - I personally could NOT make a choice between my good friends and would probably end up not going to either one so as not to make one feel bad - could you just send them both an amazing gift - I KNOW this is probably NOT what you want to hear. But it would allow you to NOT have to choose

The one doing the destination wedding is one of my BMs and we are very close but she is not doing a wedding party- just MOH and BM- I dont think the other would have asked me....

In all fairness, it doesn't really matter who was engaged first. A tentative date doesn't and shouldn't mean that date is off-limits. I do however think, that bride 2 should have spoken to bride 1 first and found out if any definite plans had been made. As I'm sure most of you know, you don't always get the exact date that you were after. It may just be that bride 2 asked for a date in a certain month or season and that's all that was available. I think the two girls should really talk and see if something can be worked out.
I know that FH friends got engaged right before us and booked their date. When we found THE place, the only date they had was for the week before. FH spoke to his friend and explained the situation and his friend understood and told us to go for it. Communication is the key!

thats what I keep telling them- to talk to each other and it'll work out...I am backing myself out of it though until a decision comes to which wedding to go to- if it comes to that.

Hey Andrea...tough spot to be in. But, I hope it all works out!!!

Just curious...where's the destination wedding??? That sounds like it's going to be fun.

Oh...and was Rich really surprised? I was stuck in the back room and couldn't see his face when he walked in...
