Looks like I'm going to get to have a 'shower' / 'ladies luncheon' after all!!!

I just talked to my mom and my MOH and we're going to plan a 'ladies luncheon' (ie: a shower without gifts) for 6/27, and that night will be my bachelorette party! I'm so excited!

Since my mom's on dialysis and my MOH is in Boston, I didn't think we'd be able to do something like this so I'm sooooo excited about it. Now we just need a guest list and a place! But I have ideas.

I always read about all you girls and how excited you all about getting soaked on your shower days and I actually have felt like something was missing since my mom and MOH aren't able to plan that sort of thing for me, so instead of just leaving it all in their hands, we discussed it together.

My mom *really* doesn't want to put people out and ask for gifts, so we're going to put a $20 cap on presents (it'll be in the evite). It's mostly just going to be a lunch with the women in my life who are around just to celebrate. I'm hoping some friends from out to town can come too since it's still 3 weeks before the wedding... hopefully that won't put anyone out too much! I'll ask everyone to stay over at my place (the 'younger' ladies) so we can go out that night and then crash here. Good thing I still have the extra air bed! hee hee

Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and for giving all your ideas and feedback all the time -- I would never have thought of this option if it weren't for all of you!!!

It's awesome that you're having something! I think it's a great compromise! The same kind of thing happened with our engagement party, we kept having to postpone it and now it's finally in a few weeks, but then we have to cram in a shower and the wedding is so close.

We didn't have an eparty, but we were on a timeline similar to yours (I see you're doing a 6-month engagement too!) and FH lives in NC, so it's tough. We went out to dinner with my family in NY and his family in NC to celebrate, though, which was great.

It's fun to celebrate! I'm so excited!

We're doing about a seven month, I just spent the first month running around with no direction before I found out about this site :)
