Right now we have 3 bridesmaids (1 MOH) and 3 groomsmen (1BM)... I wanted to add my cousin, but that woudl make 5 girls and 4 guys. Do you think that this would look wierd walking down the isle (probably 1 man is goign to have to handle 2 women)? I'm more nervous about the pictures looking off balanced?
If people have pictures of lopsided wedding parties can you please post? Im sure its been done, but i dont want it to look stange3
Thanks

Re: lopsided wedding party
It won't look strange at all. At my first wedding, we had four guys and eight girls. The photographer knows how to set up the pictures so it looks good.

Re: lopsided wedding party
No it actually looks great, we had one extra guy, we arranged it so they would walk in last, well last right before the maid of honor, so it was girl in the middle escorted by two men, she walked a bit in front of them as the church aisle was a bit tight, but it really looked pretty.

Re: lopsided wedding party
i have the same problem!!! BUT...we have 2 best men...arent they supposed to be at the altar? soo if we have 6 girls (1 MOH) and 4 guys (2 are BM)...that means only two are walkign the girls down...i was thinking 1 guy can take two girls (he will love that :) BUT it still leaves me with one girl...that is not the MOH!...and i just wanted the MOH to walk by herself...what should i do?

Re: lopsided wedding party
not a big deal at all! I've been to plenty of weddings that had different numbers of BM and GM no one noticed and the pics were fine. Let the last GM have two ladies, he'll look like a P.I.M.P!!

Re: lopsided wedding party
we are havng an uneven # as well...I think it is probably done often...think about it...what are the chances that both you and FH have the exact same amount of important people in your lives who you want to be in BP? I think it is okay

Re: lopsided wedding party
i think it looks extremely classy actually... one guy, and one girl on each arm of the guy... i happen to love that idea... and as it turns out, thats how mine is, too.
i have the maid of honor and the best man
then 3 BMs while FH only has 1 GM (for right now... hes thinking about asking another person).. we're also moving to florida about 10 months before the wedding, so its possible he might meet people down there. who knows.
either way, i think a lopsided wedding party is classy and lovely to look at.

i was recently at a wedding and they had the MOH walk down alone - it made her stand out as the MOH she walked outjust before the Bride
and also had one BM walked down with 2 GM
it was really nice

Re: lopsided wedding party
I had 8 bridesmaids and my husband had 5 groomsmen plus 1 usher (my best friend). There is a pic of all of us in my album. I think it worked out fine! Each guy either walked one or two girls down the aisle.

There are many ways to do this. 1) all the guys stand up front and the girls walk down alone 2) the two guys walk down together, followed by the five BM sort of grouped togeher two by two by one. Leave a sufficient gap for your MOH so she stands out a bit. 3) have each GM take two BM and then have the first guy go back and walk the remaining girl (he will have made two trips down)
