Lori - Hamlet Question

Hi Lori!

I have a question about flowers at the Hamlet. I'm meeting with my florist tomorrow and just wanted to see what you did.

Did you order flowers for:

1. The table where your placecards will go? (I'm pretty certain I'm doing this)

2. The entrance foyer when you walk into the Hamlet

I'm doing floating candles and rose petals on the cocktail tables.

What other areas did you get flowers for besides the reception tables?

Thanks! If you have any pictures that would be great! I heard from the boards that your flowers were beautiful!!

Re: Lori - Hamlet Question

I had flowers on the table where I had the place cards, I didn't put anything on the tables in the foyer entrance and I did have the floating candles on the cocktail tables. Besides the tables, I did have some stuff up by the DJ, I only did that because I had my ceremony there & had all that extra stuff from that. I think that was it......What florist are you using, are they familar with the Hamlet???

Re: Lori - Hamlet Question

I would love to see the photos Lori.

I am doing the floating roses on the cocktail tables

I am taking the silk arrangements off the coffee tables in the main lobby and putting floating candle bowls instead.

Replacing the card table flowers and fireplace flowers with my own arrangements

Re: Lori - Hamlet Question

That's my problem! I'm using a florist that I've been going to for years, but she's never done a wedding at the Hamlet.

I guess I'll stick with flowers for the placecard table, reception tables, floating candles in the cocktail room and I'm still debating if I should put flowers at the entraceway. once everyone comes in, I guess they can move them towards the fireplace or DJ.

Denise thought the flowers in the foyer would be nice. We'll see.

what kind of centerpieces did you use/using? Denise recommended the high ones...I was thinking of doing fall baskets. What did you choose? Sorry to be so nosy! Just trying to get ideas!

Re: Lori - Hamlet Question

I am using Spitz and Peck. I'm not getting married till May, but we have most of the arrangements set already. We are doing:

- the place card table
- the foyer
- the ladies bathroom
- the fireplace
- the two coffee tables in the lobby
- the cocktail tables
- by the band (but for the same reason as Lori, because we will have stuff from the ceremony to use.)
- high centerpieces

I think that covers everything.

Re: Lori - Hamlet Question

I am using low centerpieces- just because I really love them. I think high ones also work very nicely in that room. I think it is a personal preference. I might use my pew bouquets in the enterace way.
Ask your florist to go and see the reception site before making so many decisions. That should really help you.
