I am definitly starting the gym tomorrow but I work 10 hour days and by the time I got home I am so tired and I can't get to the gym and I go into work no later than 8. How do you girl fit the gym in?? I need some tips and motiation....Thanks

I feel the same way. After work, it is so hard to hit the gym! I bought so many work out DVD's and did really well for awhile, but now I'm a slacker just because I don't feel like it. I need some motivationnnnn!!

Re: Losing weight

i wake up at 6 and either go running or do P90x or some form of exercising which lasts about 30 min to an hour. It's hard to squeeze working out at night so i'd rather wake up an extra hour in the morning - it's quite satisfying!

Ugh I am SOOOO not a morning person. I know that I would probably LOVE working out in the morning, but I just can't get myself up before I have to! What a bum!

Re: Losing weight

i hear you on the schedule!
I find, for me, i have to do it in the morning...I might hate waking up early and what not but i feel INSTANTLY feel better...
I have a cardio dvd, a yoga dvd that also has some weight exercises and a balance ball dvd and i find that a mix of these throughout the week really works for me...
its not always easy but when i stick to it, i am a happy camper!

I just took Aqua Fitness yesterday at 9 AM. I am going again tomorrow. I used to take 6:30 spinning. I am also planning on taking Catwalk confidence.

Re: Losing weight

I feel you with the long work days and having a hard time fitting in a work out. I leave my house at 7am every day to commute into the city. I typically get home around 8pm and TOTALLY don't feel like working out. The ONLY way I can fit it in is if I work out in the mornings. I set my alarm for 4:50am every day and try to fit in some type of workout, whether it be a run, yoga or the 30 day shred. It's killer, and there are days/weeks where I can't bring myself to do it...but it's the only way I get a workout in. Not fun.

Re: Losing weight

I guess I am gonna have to try to get up early or try to leave work by 6pm to get my tush to the gym. I use to do work-outs at home but FH is paying for a membership so I feel bad not using it. I am actually up now and going to the gym. I am off tomorrow if anyone wants to walk the boardwalk in Long Beach with me

Re: Losing weight

That is really hard with a long work day. The only other thing I can think of is can you go like lunchtime to a nearby gym? And then stay a bit later at work to make up for it? If your day is flexible that might be an option

Re: Losing weight

i used to go in the morning before work....i'd wake up at 5, be on the treadmill by 5:30/5:45 and in the shower by 7 a.m. it took about 2 weeks for my body to adapt to that morning routine and get used to waking up that early.

Re: Losing weight

I am not a morning person either and it's soooo hard to get up - especially in the winter when I had to put on layers and drive to the gym. I also have an hour 15 min commute both ways!!

What I did was get my old treadmill from my parents since I hate trekking to the gym. When I go, I'd mainly use the treadmill or elliptical anyway.

I run at night since I don't have to worry about the gym closing. Usually I run 9-10pm and I can then watch the good shows that usually come on at 10!

For those who go to the gym for cardio like treadmll/elliptical, I highly recommend you invest in one! I went from MAYBE twice a week at the gym to 5+.

Re: Losing weight

I started walking on my lunch breaks. I cut out all soda/juice/sugary drinks and drank nothing but water or milk for 2 months. I also logged in what I ate on www.thedailyplate.com. It *REALLY* helped me! I think the sugary drinks were key! I lost about 20 lbs! Good luck!
