I am having a hard time with this too. I work at 7:30 and get out at 3:30 and I take care of kids and I start school in a fews weeks from 6-10. My only option soon is going to the gym at 6:30 work out for 1/2 hours each day. Shower quick and go to work right across the street. I work at a daycare so I don't have to be all fancied up. Plus my room has a fridge so I'll keep breakfast there and eat it when I get too work!! it sucks but I don't have much of a choice

Re: Losing weight
Drinking TONS of water is such an important thing. If you aren't used to it, which many people aren't, just get a Nalgene or Sigg bottle and keep refilling it throughout the day. Before you know it, you'll hit 80-90 ounces.
That, plus really monitoring your sodium intake will make you look and feel a million times better. I never realized until a few years ago, how much sodium was in EVERYTHING (it's hidden everywhere), and how crappy it made me feel every morning. There are mornings I wake up now after a salt heavy day and I can just feel the difference in my body.
By keeping your salt low and water high, your body will function so much better and everything will start melting away and your skin will even look nicer (I don't know what it looks like now! Just saying it makes everyone glow ). Your energy should increase as well.
As for making it to the gym, what time does yours close? Usually around 8:30pm, the rush at most gyms has ended and you can at least get a nice quick cardio workout in without having to wait for a machine. Can you go straight from work? Pack a bag? Once you get yourself used to it, you'll just want to go.
Good luck!

Re: Losing weight
I love to run so I do it when I can whether it be on the boardwalk, beach or at the gym.. If I can't get to the gym, I do some Wii Fit, sit ups, push ups... every little bit helps! I also bought Reebok Easy tones! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I wear them as much as possible they really do work! They tone your calves, thighs and booty as you walk or run

Yes, Wii Fit! If you do it diligently, it will help. It's fun and right in your own home! Can't beat that.

Re: Losing weight
I have a lot of the same problems... I am not a morning person and I have no energy for anything - I am so lame, but I don't want to be!! I have been trying to find a way to get a gym buddy bc I think if someone else is pushing me too, I might actually make it

I know what you mean-i work long hours; and by the time i get home the last thing i feel like doing is going to the gym!
I do weight watchers-with out the excercise it takes a while; but you'll still loose the lbs just by watching what you eat & counting points! If i'm lucky i get to the gym 1-2 times a week!

Re: Losing weight
I've also heard from EVERYONE that the last 2-3 weeks before the wedding you can't help but lose weight from stress.
Me... I'm hoping this is true! I am terrified I'll be the exception and will gain weight and not be able to fit into my dress.

I'm a total stress eater so I'm going to need my jaws wired shut, I'm sure of it

Re: Losing weight
I really try and fit in exercise whenever possible: I take walks during ym lunch break. I get up from my desk and walk around the office a few times a day. I walk to and from the train instead of taking the bus to the train. Since FSIL moved a little closer to us, we've been walking in the park at night.
As far as fitting the gym in, what I do is if it's a day I go to the gym, I drive my car and park it right next to the gym in the morning and then walk to the train from there. When I come home, I have no choice but to go to the gym because my car is there LOL.
As far as 'diet' (even though I hate the word), I've just been doing your basic calorie counting and it's been working great. I figure out in the morning exactly what we are having for dinner, take the calories out for that, and then distribute amoung breakfast/lunch/snacks the rest of the calories.
So far I have lost a total of 10 lbs and a good amount of inches off my hips, waist, and thighs.

Re: Losing weight
If there is something I always make time to do, it's working out. I just came back from vacation and didn't work out at all and I feel like crap. But no matter how tired I am or how awful my day was, I always make sure I go to the gym after work. I also go on the weekends.
And I make sure my diet is in control. I'm on a very strict diet where I unfortunately, cannot eat certain things. But it's my own choosing. I want to look good in my dress and will do anything possible to do it!!!
