lost animal question

this white bird (honestly, it looks like a white pigeon) landed in our backyard this morning an has been here all day.

it is very tame, it i took a picture of it inches from my face and has a yellow band around one leg.

i think it is someones pet, but i cant be sure. who do i call? is there anything i can do about this? its so cute! i wouldnt want someone to have lost it.

I wonder if it could be from a wedding? I really dont know what to do. Guessing - I would say call animal control and ask them, or look for local dove release and see if someone has lost one??
