i'm so sorry! It's such a shame they're doing layoffs on great teachers. A few of my friends are in the same position. Hopefully this is just one door closing, and another amazing one will open up!

OMG I am sooo sorry!!! I am an elementary school teacher for 2 years at a catholic school and I have been on the fence about taking a special education job bc I am afraid I will lose it!! I am so sorry I will keep my eye opened. You should check OLAS

I'm so sorry. :( I will definitely keep my ears open for you. What are your certifications- Math or do you have other certs? I have a friend whose aunt was looking for a math tutor for the regents, if you are interested for extra money. FM me!

I'm sorry! It is so crazy all the teachers that are losing jobs. I work in a K-8 charter school in Brooklyn. They are always hiring, it's not the most wonderful place but the good thing is that we aren't affected by budget cuts. If you are interested FM me for more info.

I'm so sorry hun. I lost mine as well. Also math. I've had some pretty bad luck...been excessed twice now. I've been teaching math for 4 years Sucks. All we can do is hope...something will float our way eventually.

When I was looking for jobs on LI, I subscribed to the NY Times for Sat and Sun just to see the Week in Review... do it!!! It will tell u abt job fairs and stuff too!!!!!!!
