Lost my job today!

Now how am I going to pay for a wedding

I'm so stressed! What am I going to do! and how am I going to find a job in this economy!

All because I called out for a migraine today! I couldn't even see straight it was so bad, how am I suppose to work!

where were u working, what are u looking to make per hour?

I have been in banking for over three years and worked at 3 banks.. its not very hard to get in bc they r always hiring tellers..

aww so sorry hon. It's a terrible feeling. I had my salary cut by 20% last year and pushed my wedding back bc of it. worst feeling ever!

keep your chin up and you'll find something...a better job :)

I was a receptionist at a physical therapy office and I mean I was only making $12/hr, but it was a paycheck every week to help with the wedding.

I never thought of looking into a bank, which bank is hiring?

I am working at Chase now and I am making 12 also. They are probably hiring .. go to the website wherre it says careers and you can apply.. try all of the banks tho.. when i was looking i got calls from like 3 in a month so u might get lucky..

so sorry u have to deal with this =/

I work for Chase too....I don't know where you are located, but I could use a teller in my branch in Ronkonkoma if it interests you at all.

thanks love. I actually sent my resume to two girls on here yesterday from that thread on the 2011 board, so thanks!! =)

I'm hoping for the best & hopefully I wont have to push back or cancel the wedding anytime soon =/

Did they seriously fire you for calling out 1 day for a migraine?? I would definitely be fighting that because you are entitled to certain amount of sick days per year, aren't you? And on top of it all they aren't even allowed to ask you whats wrong if you are calling out sick, your sick and thats none of there business. I mean I don't know the whole situation but that just sounds fishy to me, I would definitely not go down without a fight if that were me.

Yes my boss was a prick. He had cut my hours to part time about 2 months ago, so all my 'sick days, vacation days, etc' went out the window. I think he did that on purpose so he had an excuse to fire me. But it's ok because I just got the notice in the mail that I can collect unemployment, so at least I'll have some income until I find the next job. I just hope one comes along soon!!
