So in 2010, i will be taking the following vacation days off from work:
a week off in February to visit my grandmother (and the rest of my non-immediate family) who lives in Israel (she's too old to sit on a plane and be here for the wedding and i'd like to see her)
2 and 1/2 weeks off for the honeymoon (hawaii cruise, woohoo!)
and one more week in december when FH and his family have a caribbean cruise planned
plus i'd probably want the Friday before my wedding, and the Monday after my wedding off from work ...
anyone else taking an insane amount of time off this year, or is it just me? lol
anyone feel a bit guilty about taking all this time off, or is that just me also?

I will definitely be taking a lot of time off this year and probably next but I don't feel badly about it at all! My co-workers seriously abuse their time off and I'm always the one stuck coming in late or early. But this is MY year to take all the vacation I want. Besides, I've been hoarding my days for the past year now. I DESERVE the break! This is getting me PUMPED to go on vacation. LOL! I'm probably going to book my bach. party in Vegas this week!

My boss was just saying the other day that I would do a half day the day before my wedding!!!.
I was like NOOO WAY!!! I have not taken any time off so I can take all my vacation time next year. I wanted two days before the wedding and a week afterwards. We totally deserve the break!!!

Not nice at all. Hope he/she got coal for x-mas. I'm really lucky as my co gives an extra week's vacation the year you get married. Can't wait!!

We are probably going to take Memorial Day week off and go to Greenport for the week and then1/2 week before the wedding and 1 and 1/2 weeks after the wedding.

my co-workers abuse theirs so why can't i do it, specially when it's for my wedding? i'm definitely NOT feeling guilty for using it! and i have the banked days anyway! i will only feel guilty if i dont have any days available to use...

I already asked for 18 days off.
4 to go to Peru during Presidents week. I'm going with my girlfriends to see Macchu Pichu
2 days before the wedding
12 for the honeymoon
We're probably going to do a cruise in the fall and probably Vegas b/c we go every year.
I LOVEEE to travel.

I wasn't planning on it but now that you mentioned it, I may take off more time than anticipated for our HM, lol....maybe three instead of two weeks.

ahh that's awesome! i'm taking a half day the wed b4 my wedding...thurs and fri off b4 it..and mon off after it. my honeymoon won't be until 2011
