Louis XIV??

Has anyone been to a wedding here? What did you think?

Re: Louis XIV??

I have not been to a wedding there, but my FH and I went to see it as a possible RH site. I thought it was really gaudy. There was this really bright and odd carpeting throughout and the 'bridal suite' was an empy room with literally no furniture. The building itself seemed like it could use some spucing up and as soon as we opened the door, there was a very strong smell of natural gas and we got scared. Aside from that however, the food is supposed to be excellant but notoriously overpriced.

i have gone there for dinner too many times to count and the food is INCREDIBLE. The setting is nice, it is meant to look like an old french place during the time louis 16th was in charge...so that could be why people think is gaudy/old. The scenery outside is BEATUIFUL at sunset (they have big glass windowa that look out over the water)...

i do admit this is one of my FAVORITE restuarants of all time.

never a wedding, but dinner. i love that place, but i'm a sucker for views of the bay and anything french (even if it's gaudy).

I looked at the pics online and I thought it was really pretty and unique. I thought it totally exemplified the time period it was supposed to represent! Definitely give it a look! I think one of hte 09 brides was really considering it...hmmm lets see if i can find it!

It's nice and the food is great, but personally, not my vision for a wedding.

Re: Louis XIV??

We looked at it when we were searching for RH's. We thought the room was too small to accomodate our wedding...I think they said their weddings hold around 100 max. The decor looked pretty, it was just too small. And the staff person I talked to wasn't very helpful with details about booking a wedding. He just gave me a menu and that's it. Hopefully you'll have better luck that we did!
