My friend is getting married in Dec and we're trying to plan her BP. She requested a lounge in the city that also has dancing but she specifically said no clubs. Does anyone know of any places that fit this description?? TIA!!
We went to Porky's for my 30th- they have amazing drinks & the music is great- we had a blast

Thor lounge in the rivington hotel. When you walk in theres a bunch of couches, and a big bar also a restaurant on the other side, also another smaller room with a bar.

Leopard lounge, you can do parties there upstairs, where you get a section. We did it for a friends bday
Light-definitely more of a lounge type place and you can eat there too, food is great
Nikki's-its not like a regular club, more of the feel she would like. It has the front section with a bar but then theres another room with white couches all around and white decor
she might also like gansevoort
Level-its 2 levels and the upstairs would be good for what you want

HAHA I used to work there! I probably wouldnt suggest it unless they like cheesy house music cause thats really all they play. Not dissing house but they play the cheesy kind! I used to want to kill myself during my shifts! The decor and food are great though!

ive been there a few times, i remember dancing alot but i remember towards the end alot more trance type, cant really remember right now the exact music but yeah it was alot of house
Nikki def plays house music, especially late at night but last time i was there they also played really good hip hop too.

The only thing I liked about that job was being able to dance on the tables with the customers when I was bored lol. Otherwise it stunk. We had to wear those awful blue ugly dresses with big PAINFUL go go boots! I used to practically cry with those shoes on!
I think it depends on the DJ. Majority of the time they played house. I remember there was a DJ who would try to play hip hop and the manager would freak out but the DJ would play it anyway. Dont know if its changed since then.
