I really liked this BM dress in the store so I bought it for one of them to try on but now I don't know if I like it or not. I loved the back but now I'm not sure. I wanted something kind of plain that doesn't look too much like a BM dress but still looks pretty. It's so hard to find.
i think that the front top part looks awkward. As if its not sitting right. Maybe if you pull it down so that the outline of the cups of the dress are more on your chest, if that makes sense. But if it doesnt go down any further then i would return it im not too crazy about it.

Thanks! There are so many decisions to make in this planning process I don't even know what I like anymore. So I appreciate the honest opinion.

sure! if youre looking for a very simple dress, did you try looking at maybe the bill levkoff website and just choosing a simple strapless gown in a light color? That might be another option aswell maybe. Or what about anntaylor.com? Just a few suggestions.

Re: love or hate the dress
I don't like the dress. Sorry honey. Looks too junior prom for me.
Annetayloccasions has great stuff. LOVE Bill but he can be pricey depending what style you want (well pricey for us was 200+ with alterations but depends on your budget)
BUT if you like interesting backs and your girls are all thin, try this one.... Doesn't show in the pic but it has BEAUTIFUL halter chiffon straps that tie and then float down a pretty low back. Very WOW because the front is so simple. I'd definetly have chopped the hem and worn it again.
LOVED the dress but my best friend nixed it only because it didnt come in the color she wanted. LOL she sulked for weeks. Bills chiffon line colors are eh. Bill Levkoff#317
This is another idea-I think its satin.
An FYI-Bills dresses just FIT any body type-we're all Latina and CURVY and finding dresses was a huge issue for us but all of Bill's chiffon FIT perfectly-no lumps and bumps showing and you know chiffon clings, The manufacturing of the dresses is just good.

Re: love or hate the dress
you bought it for them to try on? now that's what i call service.
i found it easy to take my girls with me to the bridal shop (many brides find it easier to take only 1-2 girls with them) and they tried on dresses we liked. i knew i wanted pink tea length, so that narrowed down the process for us.
the dress in the pic does look awkard in the front, but probably would look better after alterations. i am not crazy about it, but that's just my opinion.

To be honest, it looks like a prom dress to me. Young, but trying to be sexy.

i do think it is cute ~ It would not be my first choice for a BM dress.... if you like it ~ you should have all your BM try it on... see how they like it!
If you are looking for something plain try Alfred Angelo ~ I wanted something plain and I found it ~ in so many different colors....
sorry hon, but IMO i dont like it. the think there are too many bows going on and the front doesnt sit right on the chest area.
but it's what you like, not me.

I agree...Too many bows in the back...I personally am not crazy about bows period but thats just me.

Re: love or hate the dress
the bows also really limit the bra possibilities, which could be a problem...
if you want simple, David's has some really simple satin strapless gowns that are very reasonably priced.

Re: love or hate the dress
I am going to be brutally honest and say i would want to kill you if you made me wear that. If you want to be inexpensive for your bm (which i am trying to do) I would just go get a plain regular elegant dress with a sash maybe a little ribbon trim with a bow.
You don't have to spend the $$$$ and get the bill L. dress but there are plenty of copies of that dress that I know at least your bm would be happy to be in.

I have to agree with the ladies above - I'm not a fan of the dress. It does look prom-ish to me, the front doesn't sit quite right, and the bows in the back...
If you want a simple style and want to keep costs down, try David's Bridal. I know a lot of ladies have had bad experiences, but go with an open mind, try on some dresses, and take it from there. The other designers listed above have great dresses too.

I don't love the bows in the back. I agree that it's a little junior prom-ish. Don't worry, you'll find the right dress.

I think it is hard to tell. Initially was going to say i wasn't crazy about it, but if it is on all the girls and they have their hair looking all nice and makeup on and are carrying flowers, it might look really pretty in pictures!
