Re: Loving couple seeking loving kitten...
I read somewhere to place the new kitten and the cat in seperate rooms but where they can also smell each other. Like the kitten in the bathroom and the cat roaming around. Just for a day. Of course this is hard when little meows are screaming thru the door. YOur cat has been with you so it is he that gets priority or else he will feel left out. the new kitten is just happy to play and run around. YOur cat buddy might reject the kitten at first but you have to make sure that you give buddy ALOT of attention when the kitten is around. Cats have their own personality but they are also very territorial. I'd play with Buddy and at the same time call over little one. See how buddy reacts, if he seems to get upset, seperate them, but still where they can smell each other. If the kitten is on one rooom and buddy in the other see if either of them are hanging around the door, they are trying to smell one another. Buddy might go under a bed or hide for a while too, not just because of the kitten but because of teh new home. Make sure you have something of buddy's from the old place and bring it to the new place. Maybe a favorite blanket or his scratching post or his favorite toy. I'd call your vet too. Good Luck! I'll ask around if anyone wants a kitten too.
