Is anyone a member? It's so cheap ($99 to join and $10 a month) and I'm thinking of joining. Can anyone give me any feedback, specifically about the Bayside one if you go. Thanks in advance!

Re: Lucille Roberts?
I've been thinking of joining. I've been paying for a Synergy membership that I haven't used in over a year (since I moved) and Lucille Roberts is much cheaper. I also have a girlfriend that is willing to go with me, and that's exactly what I need to get my butt back.
I used to go to lucille roberts and the one I used to go to in shirley wasn't good - not enough machines & the hours stunk (closed on sundays during the summer??) I now go to planet fitness (also 10 bucks a month) and I like that much better although they do not have classes so if you're looking for classes go with lucilles

Went to Lucille Roberts (stony brook)for years. Loved the classes but it was nearly impossible to get onto the machines. Bought my own elliptical because the wait at the gym was ridiculous.

I live like 3 blocks from there lol. I was a member at that one and didnt like it either. Although Im not a fan of Lucille Roberts in general. The hours stink with all of them. If you arent a morning person or work past 5 youre out of luck. Weekend hours are terrible. Id rather spend the extra money.

I'm a member.. the only thing I don't like is that it is so crowded when I go after work. I know every other person is going after they get out at that time too.. but it's just like ggrrr! I hate waiting to use the machines.. and the one in Westbury/Carle Place is so small.

The one i go to is pretty small. You could never get a treadmill and sometimes it just gets too damn full.

I signed up, but I hate going after work, its always crowded, can never get an eliptical or treadmill. I tried going later at 7 or 8 and the eliptical's are still taken-soo annoying

Re: Lucille Roberts?
Listen to me.
I joined Equinox and got them to waive the 'joining' fee.
If you want to join, join! But tell them that you want the joining fee waived. If they say no, walk out. Tell them you have been to a few gyms (checking them out) and they will waive the fee.
In this economy you have a lot of power. If they wont waive the fee ask them 'what wil you do for me?'
Do NOT pay a full joining fee.
