Lucky Fund

Hi Everyone,

LUCKY FUND is n organization that rescue and adopt out unwanted dogs. Most of the dogs come from the town of Hempstead/Oyster bay animal shelter. These 2 places are KILL SHELTERS and they do not hold animals there long at all, sometimes only a day or two before euthanizing them. Some dogs are also dropped off directly to Lucky Fund because they are not wanted anymore by their families or they did not spayed their dog and they have wound up with unwanted puppies. Lucky fund operates out of the pet store ANIMAL TAILZ on hemstead turnpike. The dogs are sheltered their until they find permanent homes. Lucky fund has their website up and running, but it is very new so it doesn't have that much detail yet. It does however feature some of the current dogs up for adoption and ones that have recently found forever homes. I would like you to please keep this shelter in mind and pass this along to everyone you know. Lucky Fund is in great need of donations ( Lucky fund is a non-for-profit organization), volunteers and families to adopt the dogs. Currently we just got in a small (10 lbs) purebred beagle, she was obviously very abused as she flattens to the ground when you go and pet her, but she is the SWEETEST dog. They are pretty sure she is pregnant and that will be confirmed at the vet tomorrow, so we might also have beagle puppies available soon as well. We also have two puppies coming in that are English bulldog and Rottweiler mix - they should be very cute. So, before you all go out and BUY a dog - look up this shelter or e-mail me and you could save a life!!

Re: Lucky Fund

Thanks for your reply. I also got my dog from North Shore Animal League 2 1/2 years ago. My dog is a 7 lb purbred poodle and he is the sweetest thing. He is now 8-10 yrs old and before NSALA rescued him, he sat in the pound scheduled to be put to sleep, right before he was rescued. I have been involved with animal rescue since. Thank you for passing along the info!!
