who registered for luggage, and what kind did you register for? and did people actually buy it for you?
I saw this samsonite set i like, but i feel guilty because its pretty expensive. So if we DO register for luggage we may pick a cheaper set.

Re: Luggage registry question
Definitely register you your luggage! People don't have to buy the whole set, they can buy pieces, or a few friends can go in on buying the set. Pick the set you like best!

Re: Luggage registry question
A friend of mine registered for luggage, at Fortuneoff's none the less. Just take a chance and put it in. What's the worst that can happen?

Re: Luggage registry question
We're going to register for the remaining pieces we need to complete a partial set that FH already has. I've seen a lot of registries with luggage. A lot of times, with big ticket items, you'll find that a few people will go in on the gift. Don't feel guilty - no one is forced to buy something. Register for what you want and see what happens.

Re: Luggage registry question
I was wondering the same thing today. FH is leaving for a business trip this weekend and talking about packing made me think about this. I was thinking of registering for a nice cheap set and Target or something. We need luggage.

Re: Luggage registry question
def. register for the set you want. We were lucky enough to get our whole set at the shower but don't worry you would get it eventually. People may buy separate pieces or you could have gift cards or credit at the store and use that to buy what you need.

Re: Luggage registry question
I registered for luggage and it was Samsonite, too! The set we picked has many pieces, so we pick only a few pieces -- the ones we felt we would get more use out of.
And yes someone bought it for us.

I don't know why it's such a misconception that Fortunoff's is more expensive than other stores. It's comparable to Macy's and if you really do a price comparison - Fortunoff's winds up being more affordable.

Re: Luggage registry question
We have an ok set...but FH doesn't like that he always gets the smaller suitcase, so we registered for just 2 pieces of the 29 inch rolling suitcases. We'll see what happens after the shower.

Re: Luggage registry question
We registered from soup to nuts when it came to luggage...what the heck we figured!!!
I say go for it...it is a 'wish list' and just see what happens!
Better to have it on there than not...

Luggage is important especially if you travel alot. I know we'll be getting much use out of ours. If the items you chose were not fulfilled as gifts, you and FH can decide to purchase them, or go with the cheaper ones that you like. But definitley add it to the list!

Re: Luggage registry question
I've been wanting luggage for a while now and FH surprised me with a nice set for my b-day (this past January). He bought me the 4 main pieces from Kenneth Kohl and we're going to register for the 2 bigger ones for him, which will be more than enough for the two of us.

Re: Luggage registry question
We registered for luggage too. I figure we are going on a nice two week honeymoon in Italy, I would like to go in style, rather than stumble into the hotel with mismatched pieces with bad wheels and duct tape holding it together....

Re: Luggage registry question
I didn't register for it - because I have good luggage that my family bought for me because I was studying aboard often. I would DEFINITELY register for it - if you don't have anything good!!!!
Altantic is a good brand. Beware that MANY airlines are now restricting the size of your luggage and I had to exchange my large bag for the next size small (still a huge bag) because although they sell them they are bigger than the airlines allow you to bring on.

I agree w/ this 100%! We registered at Macys and Fortunoff and found their prices quite similar and Fortunoff was a little cheaper a lot of the time!!

Re: Luggage registry question
We registered for luggage. I really hope we get it too. I know my mom bought both of my cousins a piece of their luggage for like christmas birthdays and then finished it with the shower. We looked in Fourtunoff to register but we found ones we liked better for our target registry. Its a 4 piece set eddie bauer it was only 179.99 and then we just registered for a garmet bag.
