Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Original post by aliasPook

Well DAWNIE had her wedding on SUnday, and everything went as planned. This is a two part story, so if you want to read the Police Report info, just scroll to the bottom...no hard feelings, I know some of you are at work, I understand...

RH Dinner: Paparazzi

Food was great, service was great, price was great.

Make-up: Jacqueline Nicole

DAWNIE, my mother, and her BM looked so beautiful, that it brought tears to my eyes. The make up was so done to look natural, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Price was very reasonable also...

Hair: S/B Ciro, but he had a massive heart attack three weeks before the wedding. Elena the Bridal Assistant came on such short notice, and she did a beautiful job.

She did my hair and make up, DAWNIE's hair, and her BM's hair who used and extension. If anyone is considering using one, as long as the color matches, go for it. It looked beautiful, and our hair stayed all day long. I am using her for my wedding.

Transportation: Designer Limos

Ok, let's just put it this way. If it weren't for Ramon, our limo driver, who stuck his had under the hood of my car to disconnect the alarm, we would never had made it to the ceremony. This is part of the whole Police Report. You'll read about it later on. But they deserve an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our limo bar was stocked up with with liquor, and I believe the only people who were not feeling it by the time we arrived at the reception were three flower girls. The arrived very early and drive past the house on there way to pick up teh guys playing 'HERE COMES THE BRIDE...' on teh horn. Of course at first we freaked out because they were an hour early, but when tehy continued on towards the grooms we felt better.

Reception: FLOWERFIELD

WOW...that's all I can say...If you are getting married there, you are very, very lucky. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, the waitress was by our side every minute refilling our drinks. The place was beautiful, the bridal suite was stocked up with drinks and food and I loved the Bridal Attendant...(I didn't get his name, but he was a doll...)

DJ: Tommy Tunes

At no point during teh evening was teh dance floor empty...

I really can't comment on teh gown, other than it was beautiful. One complaint was that I couldn't get that **** detatchable train to stay on and it began to detatch at the alter. I was grinding my teeth telling DAWNIE, 'DON'T move...' and I kept trying to fix it. Couldn't get that thing off her quick enough.

MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: NO DETACHABLE TRAIN FOR MY WEDDING...

Photography/Video: Imagine

Awwwwweeeeee, these people were so nice!!! The were not pushy at all, creative and they helped me put the film in my own camera (because I couldn't figure it out for myself, and the used my camera to get the pictures that I wanted to be in. How sweet was that? NOw I can have my own copies and not have to wait forever for her proofs. I will let you know how they turn out.

Ok, some stupid b*tch in the Bridal Party walked off with my lap top, my keys, $200 worth of CLinique make up still in boxes (my mother stocked up during the last free gift sale at Century 21), $100 worth of Revlon, Ultima II, Cover Girl and max Factor make up that I bought at Rite Aid for half off, my SHOWGIRLS video and one other video, $40-something in cash, my fathers text pager taht belongs to the FSBNY, and best of all, my wedding checkbook with teh VISA check card and a balance of $16,698.00...
Ok? DON'T TRUST ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE. EVER!!! i HAVE BEEN CRYING SINCE 8:00 LAST NIGHT, I HAD TO HAVE MY FATHER DRIVE ME TO BAY RIDGE HONDA AND HAVE MY KEYS REMADE FOR MY CAR ($90), WE CHANGED TEH LOCKS ($103)...my Laptop had all my wedding info on it. My guest lists, $200 worth of software, work stuff, pictures, and receipts...

TRUST NO ONE! This was someone that we knew, that we let in to out home. I had the police here today making out the police report and he kept shaking his head in disbelief. I am sick from this whole thing, I call in to work...I bought a half gallon of ice cream after closing my bank account and it's almost gone already. I am so sad over this...These are people that my sister has known here whole life, and I feel dirty and distgusting and po'd that they would have the nerve to do something like this...
Al I am pointing out is that no matter how well you know people, you never REALLY know them...
Sorry for the babbling, I am just freaking out still...

I am not getting it back, I have come to accept that...I just want to get teh **** that did this.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Ok, so I called the LT. this morning and explained everything to him. He said I can't assume, but I can do two things. One is go to Katie's parents and explain the whole situation to them (like I was going to do) and not mention that I think it's their daughter, and not mention that the case was closed. And two is to wait until this afternoon and call teh JD Detective at teh LPD and explain it all to him. He deals with problem children. Anyone married to a PO/marrying a PO that could give me some advice?

What did the mother say..

Becareful how you word things bc I know if I was a parent and someone accused my child..

I would rip them a new one...

Be careful

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

I am not going to accuse! I am going to simply explain that Katie might have seen something that day either while she was there, or after we left b/c the person took teh keys, they might have come back.

Can't the police ask her?

I mean in all reality they might spill to them ..

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

They closed teh case!!!! I am flipping out, that's why I need to do this myself. I have to call teh JD inspector. Knowing this family, if she did do it and know, they will return teh stuff in order not to embarass themselves. It's such a sad little family. No one talks to them b/c they are strange.

Laurie- I know everyone has said this millions of times but this is crazy. As much as I have respect for the police until you have to actually deal with them. I had a situation where I was getting threats by letters and when I went to te police they were like, 'well, it is not threatening enough'..... 'You better watch over your back at all times.... and 'If you thought I was nuts before you met me, wait until you see me' isn't threatening enough!!!! but every day I still live in some fear. Like I said, I respect the police but prisoners have more rights.

Maybe just talk to the Katy's mother and ask her if she heard anything that day. Maybe hearsay from neighbors that they thought they someone. Tell her what contents were missing and if she should happen to see anything to please call you. Tell her that the items are worth more than getting anyone in trouble. Then when you get them back notify the police. Obviously, this little girl needs attention. This is so sad!!!!

I have three PO's in my family and I am having my brother go with me so I don't say anything wrong. This girl is so young, I am furious at this point. Did you ever find the stalker? That is sick!

Yeah, it is someone I know. Fortunately, they are out of state. I guess that is another reason that they could not help me.

I hope everything works out for you!!!! Good luck. I am thinking of you!

I am really sorry to hear this, I hope you get your stuff back. I would wait until this kid is in school and go to her house and have a talk with her mother and just explain that everyone that was in the house is a suspect, and not that you are blaming her daughter but she is going to have her house searched and maybe if you and her mom can just take a look first so that the cops don't have to come in and maybe see if she will go for that. Good luck!!

I am so sorry to hear this...

the make-up and tiara make me think it was the girl...but don't rule out other neighbors or passers-by...

my dad left for 1 hour to go to a store one day...and the landscapers from down the block broke in (my dad said he saw them in his rearview mirro lookign at the backyard...but didn't occur to him that they would break in)...very clean...they had no idea anyone broke in...until my mom saw her jewelry box opened...

if someone knows that there was a wedding (limos..excitement...etc) that makes your house a target...

but the makeup and tiara makes me think it was the girl...

Get your insurance moeny...and try to rebuild the best that you can...

Laurie,

My Mom posted this on the wrong thread for you-

Jamie told me about your troubles - so sorry to hear about it I hope you all works out for you - don't give up presue the matter with the PD if you are persistant they will possibly do a little more. Just because they 'closed' the case doesn't mean you won't reach the ear of a cop who may be able to help. Best of Luck to you!!

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Your mother is so sweet!

OK: Update.

I am beyond ****** at this point. I came home from work, and I went right over to the house. Her parents were home because I saw two cars. I knocked and knocked, no answer. Bell was broken. (Like I said, these people are outcasts on the block, their house is a bit...falling apart, I guess?) I knocked and knocked, no answer. I came home all po'd and I go on LIW. About 10 minutes later, my mother starts screaming for me. I go upstairs, and Katie is standing in my kitchen, and she goes you came over before, did you want something. Ok, if you heaqr me knocking, and see me at teh window, common sense, you open the door, right? SO my motehr is ready to throttle her beacsue she just walked in to my house AGAIN without knocking or ringing the bell. So I tried to calmly explain that we were robbed, and I was wondering if she saw anything. My motehr is practically telling her we know it's you. I was so embarrassed. These are some of the things she said, I wrote them down exactly as she said them so I cn tell the detective...

'I saw your car alarm go off on SUnday and it was going off but it hasn't, now it's stopped...'

In response to we think it might be a neighbor,
'Maybe it's the people in the yellow house. I'll show you. (We go to the door) The people upstairs are new I think.'

When I said someone is settin gmy alarm off inentionally...
'With the keychain thingy, right?'

And she had on no make-up!!!!

And here is the last thing that has me set off on a tangent this morning. My niece is in from Middletown this weekend, and I just layed her down for a nap. I went to get her a video, and teh SOB stole LION KING!!!! I swear, EVERYTIME I sit down in my room, I notice something else missing. I went bar hopping with my brotehrs last night, and when I went to get ready, I find that the SOB left one CLINIQUE bag, but left me with one mascara, one lip liner and lip gloss. She took everything and must have left it there not to look like it was touched. I had no make up to wear. The rest of my stuff is at my FH's house.

first thing i would do is start locking my door - no way would this chickie EVER step foot in my house unanounced again, if she asks explain that since you were all robbed, you now are cautious about who can come in and out....also maybe have an 'innocent' heart to heart with her (which would require a lot of acting) and explain how much all the stuff meant to you and that you wish someone would help you find it (maybe she will say she'll try or maybe you would have to say 'wouldn't it be greta if you could help find it? - but in a very open and honest way - not accusing her but letting her think that she is helping and would be the 'hero'!)

keep us informed.....and good luck, don't let it get to you too much (again i know its easier to say that b/c ita not me but...) b/c she is not worth it....everything will work out - give your sister a hug from me (even though i don't know her!) and let us know whatever we can do to help......

I just read this and all I can say is thank God no one was physcially hurt. I read Dawn's review and the wedding sounded wonderful! Congratulations to Dawn and to you on your new brother-in-law.

About this little girl - it sounds like she wants to be involved in your familyin some way, the way she just pops in all the time. Maybe she wants attention and this is her awful way of getting it? Have a heart-to-hear with her, tell her you have done things you regretted and that if she knows where your things might be you'll be really happy to have them back. It's very sad and I'm sorry for you and your family.

I was telling my mom about this and she suggested that you offer say a 100$ reward. IF it is this girl she might be stupid enough to say hey look what I found where is my reward.

What happens if it was one of the BM's though? And not her? That's why I am not pushing it. My motehr swears it's her, and I am fighting with my mother too b/c you can't just go there and accuse her. They also stole two gray handtowels out of the bathroom. DOesn't that sound weird? I figure maybe she used it to handle everything. THis is all so weird.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

it HAS to be this little girl. How else would she know about the keychain. Why would a grown BM want to steal a hand towel? It just doesn't make any sense. Tell the detectives what she said and that she stole the Lion King and they will have to question her

Helene718 Posted:

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

I don't think you should question this girl anymore. If she knows you are on to her, she is going to start covering her tracks. And LOCK YOUR DOOR!!! There is no reason for this girl to be walking into your house! She sounds like she has some real problems.

Re:'Lynbrook'PD'Police'Report/Wedding'Day'Review

I went knocking from door to door today to the left and to the right of my house, and across the street. Am I the only human being home on a Saturday afternoon? I want to ask everyone if they saw something strange. I have given up on Katie. I am trying other options.
