Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Original post by aliasPook

Well DAWNIE had her wedding on SUnday, and everything went as planned. This is a two part story, so if you want to read the Police Report info, just scroll to the bottom...no hard feelings, I know some of you are at work, I understand...

RH Dinner: Paparazzi

Food was great, service was great, price was great.

Make-up: Jacqueline Nicole

DAWNIE, my mother, and her BM looked so beautiful, that it brought tears to my eyes. The make up was so done to look natural, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Price was very reasonable also...

Hair: S/B Ciro, but he had a massive heart attack three weeks before the wedding. Elena the Bridal Assistant came on such short notice, and she did a beautiful job.

She did my hair and make up, DAWNIE's hair, and her BM's hair who used and extension. If anyone is considering using one, as long as the color matches, go for it. It looked beautiful, and our hair stayed all day long. I am using her for my wedding.

Transportation: Designer Limos

Ok, let's just put it this way. If it weren't for Ramon, our limo driver, who stuck his had under the hood of my car to disconnect the alarm, we would never had made it to the ceremony. This is part of the whole Police Report. You'll read about it later on. But they deserve an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our limo bar was stocked up with with liquor, and I believe the only people who were not feeling it by the time we arrived at the reception were three flower girls. The arrived very early and drive past the house on there way to pick up teh guys playing 'HERE COMES THE BRIDE...' on teh horn. Of course at first we freaked out because they were an hour early, but when tehy continued on towards the grooms we felt better.

Reception: FLOWERFIELD

WOW...that's all I can say...If you are getting married there, you are very, very lucky. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, the waitress was by our side every minute refilling our drinks. The place was beautiful, the bridal suite was stocked up with drinks and food and I loved the Bridal Attendant...(I didn't get his name, but he was a doll...)

DJ: Tommy Tunes

At no point during teh evening was teh dance floor empty...

I really can't comment on teh gown, other than it was beautiful. One complaint was that I couldn't get that **** detatchable train to stay on and it began to detatch at the alter. I was grinding my teeth telling DAWNIE, 'DON'T move...' and I kept trying to fix it. Couldn't get that thing off her quick enough.

MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: NO DETACHABLE TRAIN FOR MY WEDDING...

Photography/Video: Imagine

Awwwwweeeeee, these people were so nice!!! The were not pushy at all, creative and they helped me put the film in my own camera (because I couldn't figure it out for myself, and the used my camera to get the pictures that I wanted to be in. How sweet was that? NOw I can have my own copies and not have to wait forever for her proofs. I will let you know how they turn out.

Ok, some stupid b*tch in the Bridal Party walked off with my lap top, my keys, $200 worth of CLinique make up still in boxes (my mother stocked up during the last free gift sale at Century 21), $100 worth of Revlon, Ultima II, Cover Girl and max Factor make up that I bought at Rite Aid for half off, my SHOWGIRLS video and one other video, $40-something in cash, my fathers text pager taht belongs to the FSBNY, and best of all, my wedding checkbook with teh VISA check card and a balance of $16,698.00...
Ok? DON'T TRUST ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE. EVER!!! i HAVE BEEN CRYING SINCE 8:00 LAST NIGHT, I HAD TO HAVE MY FATHER DRIVE ME TO BAY RIDGE HONDA AND HAVE MY KEYS REMADE FOR MY CAR ($90), WE CHANGED TEH LOCKS ($103)...my Laptop had all my wedding info on it. My guest lists, $200 worth of software, work stuff, pictures, and receipts...

TRUST NO ONE! This was someone that we knew, that we let in to out home. I had the police here today making out the police report and he kept shaking his head in disbelief. I am sick from this whole thing, I call in to work...I bought a half gallon of ice cream after closing my bank account and it's almost gone already. I am so sad over this...These are people that my sister has known here whole life, and I feel dirty and distgusting and po'd that they would have the nerve to do something like this...
Al I am pointing out is that no matter how well you know people, you never REALLY know them...
Sorry for the babbling, I am just freaking out still...

We only started talking to them last summer, and we have lived there since 93. They are a weird little family, very sad situation. I have never been in there hme, and my mother was there once when her mother had a nervous breakdown...see what I mean? It's very sad.

I was a BM at Dawnie's wedding (I posted my opinions of the event on Dawnie's review thread). The family of AliasPook and Dawnie is one of the most generous you'll meet. They opened their doors to the BP before the wedding day (because there were a few girls who lived too far to travel on Sunday). They went out of their way to welcome everyone which was already above and beyond their obligation to anyone. I, for one, will not be offended by a phone call from the police. I think (at this point) it's the only way to bring this disgusting episode to a satisfactory conclusion. Laurie, you can't worry about feelings being hurt right now. At the very least, the police might be able to get added information from potential witnesses. I'm sure everyone in the BP feels the same way... This person is NOT worth your consideration for even a moment.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

I wish I could remember something useful. I went shopping with your sis (Dawnie) tonight and we went over some things with no luck. There were a lot of clothes strewn over the floor by the time all of us were done... the mess makes it hard to pinpoint anything. Sorry! I'll keep going over it in my mind, maybe something will pop up. Was your computer just out, laying around? Didn't ANYONE see ANYTHING? To leave your house, the thief had to pass a lot of people. I mean, a computer in someone's hands is so obvious!!! I've also been going over what certain BMs had with them in the hotel (I gave in and stayed -- I didn't even have a toothbrush...gross), but to no avail. We'll come up with something viable. Maybe it's time to start phoning the BP...
I'm adding: Even if the perp (that's NYPD Blue speak) had the computer in the bag, wouldn't people question someone leaving with a computer bag because no one would bring their own computer to a wedding...

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

This may sound really stupid - (but JustaBM has a point - I think someone might have seen someone with a bag to carry the lap top) - but back in August my downstairs neighbor was robbed. It was the first robbery here in 20 years. Some time between 12-3pm they took out her air conditioner and climbed in and stole her lap top, and some other appliances, jewlery and camera etc. Well, her boy friend is FBI and so we had a ton of people running around trying to figure out how they did this mid day. Well surprise surprise - some of her things were found in some bushes about 50 ft from her apt. They think that they were hidden and were that the robbers planned on returning to get the things.

So having said this - is there any possibility that they might have hidden the things outside somewhere and planned to return for them when it wouldn't look strange for them to carry a bag like that?

The weird thing is only one BM had a car. I don't think they would have taken the computer bag/bridefcase to the hotel. They used the limo and then the shuttlebus. If it was a BM, all of them live upstate, with the exception of JustaBM who is in Brooklyn (she didn't hava a car), one from Texas who didn't have a car, and two in Mineola who stayed upstairs teh entire time. That's why I think it's Katie, or it could be the BM with the car. BUt I am not accusing her...I woke up this morning wondering if my fathers alarm went off b/c Katie was the police, she might back off. I wish she didn't see them!!! I feel like I am playing a lif-size game of CLUE where the person that did it was invited over for dinner. I slept well for the first time since Sunday.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Nope, no news. You girls are so sweet! I promised my mother that if we didn't hear anything my tomorrow morning, I would get up the nerve to call. The detectives probably have bankers hours, I guess. But it's so weird that since Katie saw teh police, our alarms have stayed off, right?????????
I feel bad though sending the police over there, but what am I supposed to do???

i'm seriously thinking that it's this kid...........

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Me too. I feel bad it it's not her and it's a bridesmaid, and I feel bad if it's not a bridesmaid, it's her. Either way, someone stole the stuff and the Lynbook PD were basically pointing out that I will never know who did it.

I am so depressed over this, that I can not concentrate. I called at 9.45pm, and the Sgt. said that it was classified as a 'local' because of all of the guests in my house (I have to call my brother who is a PO and ask him what that means...). So the this case is officially closed, my stuff is gone, no investigation. Isn't that nice?

I would make sure that your brother calls the police department himself. Cops usually do the right thing by other cops and their families. Besides it can't hurt! I wish you so much luck!

Don't give up! What comes around goes around.

Would you considering hiring a private detective to atleast review and do the legwork to view the tapes from the bank. I don't think they are that expensive, atleast it will give you peace of mind.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Thing is they didn't go to the bank....IMAGINE is supposed to get back to us about the raw footage. Dawn was supposed to call them, I hope she did? I am going to ask my my brotehr when he comes down tomorrow. He lives upstate.

Seriously when I was mugged, who would have thought that they would have caught the guy. Their were no cameras, no other witnesses, just me! Well, 2 months laters-- they caught him! Keep the faith and keep on them!

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

I SERIOUSLY don't have time for this ****. After work tomorrow, I am walking over to this girls house and telling her motehr EVERYTHing, with the exception that I think it's her daughter, and I am going to ask to speak to Katie, saying maybe she saw or noticed something strange. I am going to stress the make up issue...I mean, didn't your mother notice if you had a new color on at that age!!!!

I'm so sorry Laurie. I'm still praying for you. I really hope you get your stuff back
