i don't want to make anyone nervous but i've been hearing that alot lately from some very close friends and family who were using her.....i just think that she is so popular and does amazing work that she needs a better assistant. i'm sure you girls who booked her have nothing to worry about. once she sees that she will fix it.

all i know is i used her and i loved her - she did make up for me, the moms, and the girls - and i was more than happy....

i hate seeing bad reviews on vendors i loved....

i will say that i was warned before i booked her but i took a chance and i am so so so glad i didnt listen to other people - but you never know i guess.....i would just suggest that the girls already booked with her make sure they have a signed contract and try to get in contact with her directly to go over your plans for the morning of the wedding.....

yea so i am running into this problem now. I didn't want to say anything but since this is out I will. I mailed her a deposit weeks ago, she cashed it last week, and no contract, email nothing. I have emailed three times for a contract and get back the response 'there are other weddings before yours in 2010 so the contracts are being drafted in that order'. She WHY cash my check then? Still trying to figure out what to do now.

it takes all of two minutes to draft a contract....i would keep calling until you get it.

if she didnt draft a contract, she shouldnt cash a check.

I personally wouldnt mail or leave a deposit anywhere without having both parties sign the contract prior. Protects both myself and the vendor.

i dont think there is 1 vendor/business out there that has a perfect record. Everyone is different. But its good to know everyones expereince going into it.

I agree tht everyone has their own experiences, I don't like the money side to this, no contract but keeping the money...just give a contract!

Honestly, I would not like that response at all 'there are other weddings before yours in 2010'. That would make me very nervous. I wouldn't want to take a risk, you want to feel confident with your vendors. I guess the best thing to do for everyone is to go with your gut feeling/intuition.

I know she's a popular vendor, but everyone has a different experience. And hearing the bad makes people nervous. Based on this, I doubt I will contact her for my trial. If she doesn't want people saying negative things then she should get a better assistant and start acting more professional!!!

Hey ladies. I think everyone has the right to vent about their experiences with vendors. BUT we should all judge for OURSELVES instead of ONLY relying on a review.

I had nothing but WONDERFUL experiences with M**I**A. I used her for my Engagement Shoot, B-Pics and my Wedding and had no problems whatsoever.

You will usually find mixed reviews on just about every vendor on here. My advice: Go with your gut feeling. Meet with the vendor yourself and THEN decide if its for you or not.

Good LUCK!

You are right, I shouldn't have posted that, was just venting because I was frustrated and then all this popped up and it made me even angrier. I must say that Mia does do amazing work, which is why I booked her in the first place.

I've never had an experience with M*I*A or know anything about her aside from this site, so I'm not going to make a judgement about her. However, I will say that I think a contract is EXTREMELY important, and that ANY vendor should be willing to give you one ASAP.

Trust me, my DOC would never Hold someone is such high regard as she has with M*I*A. Everyone has an off day. I wouldn't worry though. Just be on top of the contract.

My DOC said the same thing, I called her about it today. She just said to make sure the contract is specific. By the way, I did get my contract today, she is probably flooded with girls emailing her about contracts.

I've actually had a great experience with her assistant. She is very responsive to me. My trial is on Friday!
